Loved the rustic vibe of the homestay. The food was fresh and delicious. The homestay members were extremely helpful and accommodating, all the while ensuring that we were having a good time. They were so thoughtful to pack us a hearty breakfast with fresh mangoes right from their garden because we had to checkout quite early.
The tour arranged by them to experience the local market, handicrafts, and fruit garden was truly a pleasure. Sau who was our local guide is a wonderful woman.
Nhi and Nhan were wonderful hosts who helped us navigate through the unknowns and were always just a chat away for any help requested.
I would highly recommend staying in this homestay and experiencing the local scenes in a cycle.

Quiet. Peaceful. Clean. A home away from home but in foreign lands. You can tell that the whole family puts their whole heart into what they do here.
Yennie my host went above and beyond to make my stay unforgetable. She even helped me plan some of my itinerary after I had left.
The food was as good as you will find in any fine dining restaurant.
Beautiful pottery decorates the property.
And the tours they plan are excellent.

Cool town on Mekong river with peaceful views and friendly people. There are so many activities to do like visiting fruit plantation, sitting on boat along a narrow channel with 2 green along the way. I like the most seeing sunrise at Bo Song Quan coffee and Huong Quan food is great!!

Not a huge amount to do in this area. It’s a great getaway to relax and unwind in a resort. To get there from HCM I would use a bus company to the tourist port. You can cycle around but there isn’t a huge amount to see. Not lots of choice of places to eat outside the hotel. Lots of rubbish sadly, would be great to see some conservation projects or community clearing projects to help with this.

The bath is spacious and the little deck nice to enjoy the views. The pool is large although too shallow on one side. Great for the toddlers. The breakfast is good if it’s the buffet but if you order by menu just so so. Restaurant serves nicely prepared dishes at resort prices. Thr staff as usual in Vietnam is eager to help. We arrived by rented scooter and had some trouble with it. Three guys were omit and had the problem fixed in a jiffy.

Super nice staff and a hotel where you could easily relax a few days. Mekong Delta tours are nice but they tend to stop at shops or factories where they more or less force you to buy something or give tips. It was so uncomfortable that we didn’t enter the last shop. The tours through the Delta itself are nice and a must. Maybe you make it clear at the hotel that you come for the nature and culture and not to shop and avoid the experiences we made.

Our host, Vu, is an exceptional man, very good English speaker - a guide and a nice man. He showed us the hidden places of the Mekong Delta, rice crops, traditional houses, we were invited to cook together in Vietnamese style, but beyond that we were received in his family's house at a party with over 50 people. Without a doubt, we will return to Sao Mai Hotel, thanks to Vu and his family, you are extraordinary.

The food was EXCEPTIONAL, the garden beautiful & peaceful and our hosts were warm and welcoming. Our river tour with Nhi was an absolute highlight - we saw and experienced so much. Yes it’s rustic and doesn’t have all of the comforts of a city hotel, but that’s the point! It was the only time we felt that we truly got away from the tourist traps and experienced the real Vietnam.
