The breakfast was disappointing. So much ultra processed food. Coffee was good though. Staff were very good. Receptionists were especially good.

Although we were able to park free while on our cruise (that’s changed in 2023) this was the worst, noisiest hotel ever. Located in bad part of town & smelled stale. For the cost, location & quality I wish I could have a refund.

free room upgrade to a suite was a plus. king size bed was comfy but not too keen on the full pillows. traffic was noisy and the main entrance could only be accessed with the flow of traffic. later, i noticed a side gated entrance but it was never opened for guests. jacuzzi didn't work and the pool wasn't a heated pool. breakfast was available but there were too many people and too little sitting areas. despite some small complaints, it was a very good stay and comfort level was high. good price for the area. Denny's restaurant next door. convenience store and gas station across road.

Didn’t like our stay here at all.
Didn’t like our stay here at all. Whole area was dodgy and didn’t feel safe at all. Floor in the whole place was sticky. Advertise they will call you a taxi when you leave. Guy refused to call us a taxi and gave us the number to call ourselves after we told him that it was offered in our email. After a hour we finally got a taxi to take us to the cruise terminal. Both of our groups will not stay here again.

It’s a dusty little shipping area with tons of trucks and docks for loading and unloading. Very close to downtown long beach though! It was also pretty quiet other than the occasion laboring outside which wasn’t too noisy.
We were not able to stay because of the smell of urine mixed with room deodorizer. The floors were sticky and made a noise when you walked on them. The worst thing was that you had Jack-and- Jill bathroom that you shared with neighboring room. I wish I had taken picture of sign posted on door. We could not stay & did NOT stay. I have written this hotel and Booking.com, I am still waiting for my FULL refund. Worst experience EVER.
I really did enjoy my stay at the Portlight. The room was nice and the bed is super comfortable. There was obvious noise due to the near by port. The other people at the hotel weren't too nice and did make a lot of noise, but for the most part I would definitely go back again.
We enjoyed our stay. Perfect to catch a ship in San Pedro. We got upgraded to a 2 room suite. Some of the furniture is worn and door to bedroom was a bit broken . The price was awesome. Denny's next door is really good. If your in front rooms of hotel street noise is bad .
The old hotel manager hosted us in the nicest way and treated us in the nicest way. I thank him very much. Besides that, the hotel is new, clean, safe. Also It is very beautifully designed. bathrooms and toilets were both new and clean. Hope stay again 🙏 thanks
Everything was nice. It’s a good mid priced hotel. Nice location for going on a cruise. Uberxl was under $15! Denny’s right next door for dinner and the hotel has breakfast in the mornings. They have all covid precautions in place.
The hotel has a great location and very nice, clean and comfy. The complimentary breakfast was pretty good, parking lot had a security guard to watch the vehicles and check in/check out was easy. Most definitely will be going back.
Used the hotel as an affordable 1 night stop over on way to LAX.

This motel was better than expected for the price.
Very impressed this was a great hotel in my opinion the location the staff the cleanliness the secure parking lot great value for your buck i highly recomend this place. This is gonna be my hotel spot for now on 😁👍.
The location of the hotel was just right for our trip the next day to the port. The bed was comfy but the view sucked as we were looking at garbage bins from next door. But our room was fine other than that/
The hotel is small but surprisingly comfortable and very clean. The staff was great and helped with everything I needed. I loved the history of the place and knowing it made my stay even more unique.
I thought I may have lost something. And the staff went above and beyond to make sure I't wasn't. Also the hotel had a very good view of the fireworks and wasn't busy around me.
The owner is friendly and makes coffee every morning. There is a good and cheap Mexican reataurant (Maya) only a few hundred meters away. It is easy to reach by car.
I like to thanks the staff and Mr. Raj and Mr. Krish for the excellent friendly and service thank you very much for the pleasure stay at you Hotel Jochen
