Unlike the theme parks in Florida, there weren't many people there. That's a good thing. However, there didn't seem to be too many things to do for older kids. We rode in the Sky Lift to the top of the mountain which was pretty cool. We also rode in the train, but that was about it. The problem was that we arrived early afternoon. By 6:00, my two teenagers, 62 year old sister -in-law and 90 year old mother-in-law were exhausted. Nobody wanted to stay for the laser light show which I believed would've been the highlight of our visit to Stone Mountain. That part left me disappointed. My advice, go later in the afternoon.

Dirty and the facility looked as if it were abandoned.
Dirty and the facility looked as if it were abandoned. I stayed here 8 years ago and it was beautiful. That is why I came back. It is very run down and needs updates and to be cleaned. I think the pictures online were from several years ago.

The Mountain is beautiful with strong history.
The Mountain is beautiful with strong history. The train ride was short, but sweet. We did not get a chance to go to the top of the mountain, due to windy conditions the cable car was not being used. The park is beautiful!

I'm moving here, so it had to be great. It was.
I'm moving here, so it had to be great. It was. Better than expected. People here are so friendly. They bend over backwards to help. Same for Decatur, and I drove between the two for my check list.

The location is right at the center of shopping, tourist attractions and Stone Mountain village. We didn't visit the village, but we did eat out at several nearby places, and even walked to the Walmart across the street.
For parents, it might be good to know the hotel sits right behind a movie theater, so that might help keep everyone occupied.
The hotel staff was quite good, especially at a busy time at Christmas. We were checked in easily, got right to our room, and found the beds comfortable and the shower very nice. There are outside lights shining in through the big windows, but fortunately they have blinds to help darken the room.
My wife used the gym and was happy to find a decent selection of machines (and towels) there.

Stone Mntn Park was awesome!
Stone Mntn Park was awesome! So beautiful and so many different things to do. The mountain climbing was spiritual and watching so many families and individuals enjoying park facilities was great. We paid the $20 parking fee and enjoyed it immensely! We could have paid the extra for a ticket to do extras but it wasn't necessary to enjoy the parks grounds and have a great time. We're going to make it an annual trip!
I first visited this Hotel in 1985 with my grandparents, this hotel still has it magical presence about it after all these years, views are stunning and is only a short walk to Stone Mountain park and its attractions !! As always impressive pumpkin show and for me a different train rather than the old steam train I remember.
It was clean!!! It was very spacious and cozy, the kitchen was very comfortable, and the backyard was lots of fun for our children. The covered parking made it easy for rainy days. The sun room was amazing 🤩 bedrooms/bathrooms nicely decorated. Great coffee maker and electric tea kettle. The washer/dryer was helpful.
My room was large, overlooking the garden, a quiet oasis. The king bed was very comfortable bed. Stone Mountain Manor is a beautifully restored old house in charming Stone Mountain, at the edge of Stone Mountain Park. I stayed for two weeks while visiting family and felt at home.
Beautiful place. Owner and staff were attentive and kind. Bed was comfortable. Sheets and pillows were great. Great location with a few shops and restaurants within walking distance. Minutes to Stone Mountain. Check In And check out was a breeze. Will definitely stay again.
The comfy beds, the good breakfast, the friendly staff, room was clean, very nice and updated. We loved our stay here! Location was convenient to food and attractions we were visiting like Stone Mountain Park and Netherworld also.
Perfect Location for our stay! The gym and breakfast restaurant/diner was within walking distance. All other activities, mountain climbing, parks, were within a few minutes drive
