Queens is more modern and you have plenty of choices for food. I'm an Asian and the food in Queens are little bit different than Chinatown so really depends on the preference. One thing I do notice are Queens has more Malls, big malls so is easy to shop for clothing. And also the hotel cost and parking are little bit cheaper than downtown. If you don't mind to take metro, Queens are good option.

The location was great and A train across from hotel. I wish I arrived 1 extra day to see Queens but we were there just 1 day and headed to Time Square. And in morning had to flight out for our trip. We had our room cleaned every day and got bottled water refilled each day. Breakfast was tasty and the stuff was super nice, you can leave your luggage after the check-out for free in their storage room. The rooftop terrace had a great view of New York skyline. There's also a grocery store plus a brewery nearby. The room was pretty basic but it had the necessary amenities. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was more than what we expected. Long Island City was really nice and we will definitely stay at LIC hotel again. If you're driving, they have their own parking lot with an extra fee as well.
