The building was run down in many respects, including the room we stayed in. Our room was not as clean it should have been, thick dust on the ceiling fan, a spill on the wall and door that was not cleaned up, rugs were dirty. The person at the inn never even said hello to us, although we know that he saw us. The bead was comfortable, the tea and snacks available in the dining room was a nice touch. Breakfast was not available until 8:00, which was too late for us since we had a long drive ahead of us.

This City is a throwback to old style comfort.
This City is a throwback to old style comfort. The Fordham House is the most comfortable and large and frankly, just like home place, you can find. The city is lovely, and you can walk from your bed and breakfast to the center of town and go to one of the restaurants for a lunch or dinner; you won't need breakfast because you have a made to order one for free at the Fordham. There are a great many old antique stores and consignment shops that have a fun variety of items. One was a big surprise because once I thought I had seen it all I found a second floor. Another one was interesting, in that it had several rooms all decorated in different decades of furniture and books, kitchen machines etc. It also had a room with local honey - lots of it. Very much fun.

Montecello is a cute little historical North Florida town.
Montecello is a cute little historical North Florida town. Walkable with cafes and antique shops as well as an old opera house and court house. Not the most progressive place... One antique store had confederate flags in the window, which is unacceptable and should have caused a boycott.

The young lady working the night shift was friendly and tried to be helpful but the condition of the rooms was beyond her control. She tried contacting the "manager" to address our concerns but this was not successful. After checking in we checked out and moved to another hotel but were billed for our stay for 2 rooms for 2 nights.
