My first visit to Kansas City Missouri, on short notice for Labor Day weekend. It was pleasant enough, and would visit again. If anything, the public transit needs improvement. But decent nightlife and fairly scenic overall. I visited Aura KC.

I spoke with the hotel today 09/15/2023 which was very disappointing. Very professional but everything was blaimed on a 3rd party booking. I used booking.com to place the reservation but it is quite different when you arrive. There should never be any confusion when booking and getting to the hotel. If this is how it works I will never use this service again. I should feel comfortable that the line of communication between 3rd party providers and the hotel are crystal clear since the 3rd party providers at that point are representing the hotel. And I will never stay at a IHG property again when something could be blamed on a 3rd party provider instead of the property itself just presents problems for me. My money is important to me and I felt like my problem to IHG WASN'T THEIR PROBLEM. Very unprofessional!!!

The people are incredibly friendly and polite at the hotel and throughout the city.
The food is not great. Lots of National chains and the local ones (with high recommendations) we visited, which were not chains, were mediocre.
Airport was a joke for such a big city. A new one is coming, I was told, but going in and out was not impressive.

It is a fantastic city for a getaway weekend! The Legends Outlet and the Plaza are great for shopping! We stayed at the Marriot near the Plaza and it was beautiful to see the city lights from the 18th floor!

I lived here for 30 years and moved away 7 years ago. I come back often to visit family and I enjoy coming back to see the many updates the city has done to make it look nice.... Kansas City, Kansas is getting a much needed makeover.... lots of food variety and shopping at the Legends plus the Speedway, baseball and soccer are convenient entertainment. Nice place to visit and live....
My concern was not with the hotel but with Booking.com. When I got to the hotel, they did not have my reservation. I had my confirmation saved on my phone and they did provide me with a room. Initially I was told they were booked up, but then a room became available. Not sure what happened. I will be checking to see that I did not get billed twice as, they took my payment and I had already provided Booking with my credit information.
Hotel located in “wrong” downtown (Kansas City and not Missouri) so you might need to pick your car if you want to enjoy a bit the city. So if you filter out hotels by that, pay attention. It's not where you might want to be.
Apart from that, room but clean and well equipped. All was proper and fine, no special comment.
Standard breakfast offered and free private parking available on site.
The breakfast was really. good my kids enjoyed every moment we had bad serves with orange juice at another hotel, but their orange juice was amazing. I really enjoyed my stay. We didn't have to ask for anything they gave us towels when needed and it was not very loud, I love it. We will be staying again.
The breakfast spread and servers were amazing, this is the best not meal at any hotel in years. Every one of the employees we came into contact with were very friendly and always wanted to chat and make sure our stay was perfect. We would seem out your chain in any city we travel to from now on.
Tiffany at reception was really welcoming and helpful a real credit to the hotel as we're all the other staff I met. When you have staff in a hotel like these you come back in the future and use the same hotel chain again which I did.
The price I paid for my stay was also very reasonable.
We wanted to explore Kansas/Missouri so I purposefully wanted a hotel outside of city limits just to explore. Clean facilities for the most part. We had a very roomy room (stayed in a handicap room for my hard of hearing father) and it was pretty comfortable for our party of 3.
It sit off 1 70 interstate runs through eastbound and westbound Kansas City Kansas which is were it's at going east next is Kansas City Missouri going west is Bonner Springs and Lawrence you see
We had a reservation booked for months and when we went to go check in they couldn’t find our reservation anywhere. they accommodated us and honored the price even though the hotel was booked.
I got in late but I did call the hotel the night man wasn't nice and didn't really want to help. my key wouldn't open the back entry he seemed annoyed.
