Our Trout Almondine dinner was excellent - -fresh, tasty, & cooked well done, the way I requested.
We had a terrific view of the Eel River from our Room 306 on the 4th floor.
And, the desk clerk was so accomodating in getting us a bag of ice to take to our room.
Additionally, our room was huge and included a comfortable sofa and desk & chair.
Beautiful room and lobby and dining room.

Gorgeous interiors, very cozy and ideal location on Avenue of the Giants. So fun staying in a cabin but with all the luxury.
Redwoods River Resort & Campground features a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, shared lounge, a restaurant and bar in Leggett.

Such a friendly, welcoming vibe from all staff. Quirky decor in our self-contained, comfortable room. Good food, drinks and company in the pub. Right in the heart of redwood country.

The hiking trails in Humboldt park nearby, which is the reason to go to the Benbow Inn, are beautiful. There are easy, moderate, and hard trails, so there is something for everyone. The park is clean and there are many picnic areas. Be sure and stop by the Visitor Center to get a map and information about trail status before heading out.
The town of Garberville near the Benbow Inn has a couple gas stations and cafes but unfortunately also has quite a few borderline looking bums hanging out (likely stoned). Although most are likely harmless, I would be hesitant to leave anything in my car to go eat or shop.

Garberville is a tiny little town close to the Avenue of the Giants which is what we came for. It has only a couple restaurants and a nice grocery store. Most folks are friendly, it was a little crowded due to the amount of construction workers staying in town that were working on nearby highway and road repair. I would love to go back to see the Redwoods and when I do I will stay here again.

Garberville is one of the larger small towns in the heart of redwood country along US-101. It makes for a convenient stopover while on a road trip but really nothing more than that. The town is way past its prime. We saw more transients walking the streets than locals or visitors during our overnight stay,

I would not recommend Garberville.
I would not recommend Garberville. Too many sketchy people around, making it uncomfortable to walk around. Everything closes up at night, so only options for food are the gas station convenience store. If it's the only option on your trip, the Best Western is pricey, but clean and safe.

I wouldn’t stay in Garberville again.
I wouldn’t stay in Garberville again. The hotel was overpriced and the hotel clerk was impersonal and seemed to be incapable of doing her job properly. I could not understand what she was saying because she was behind some plexi glass and she was mumbling behind her mask. I kept asking her to speak up but she did not. She doesn’t seem to understand my request of splitting the bill between two credit cards. Checkout was a frustrating experience that wasted so much of Ike time - must have taken at least a half an hour! I’d never return to Garberville as there were too many businesses that were closed.

Garberville is a very small town, and compared to the other hotels in the area, it appears that the Best Western is the best in the area.
Do not try to take your dogs out for a hike in the park, it is NOT allowed.
The hot water for the location is obviously turned down to save money and as a result there isn’t enough hot water and it’s basically a cold shower, there is no shampoo or conditioner, they do provide cheap bar of soap. When we arrived another guest asked if she could receive additional towels and the owner told her no. There is just an overall cheapness that would make us never go back, we spent twice as much the following night going to a more expensive hotel to insure hot water.
Location was GREAT! Easy access in and out of Garberville. Some of the furnishing was a little out of sorts but everything still worked out. The manager goes out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed: Towels and like. Very accommodating. I travel to the area about 4-6 times a year and this is my GO-TO spot (Now that we are starting to open-up in California) Simply because of the service...Thank you!
Room was reasonably clean and comfortable. When we arrived, we'd been assigned a second-floor room and asked for one on ground level -- quickly accommodated and, though it was an upgrade to a kind, was not charged for the difference. Location was easy to find and nearby available dining.
The hotel was lovely, and the dining experience was superb. We did try to use the pool at 9:30pm and was told we could not use it because they were leaving at 10. It shouldn't be advertised as available until 10 in that case. Besides that we loved the stay and will recommend to others
The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. Nice balcony.
The breakfast was amazing with omelets, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, bagels, toast, cool pancake machine, fruit, cereal and juices.
Conveniently located near the redwoods and the Avenue of the Giants.
The hotel appears to have staff shortages as breakfast is take out only and wait staff at restaurant were slow in serving one night due to non guest large banquets. Otherwise service was good.
Dinner menu was outstanding.
They wouldn’t feed us even though we were staying at their expensive hotel, even though the dining room was half full with plenty of empty tables. They have no policy to serve meals to hotel guests.
Hotel looks lovely from outside, charming, lots of character, great outdoor seating area.
Room was reasonably comfortable but the beds are quite small queen size with just 1 bed in the room.
It was one of the easiest camping experience you will come across. The facilities make it wholesome. The host is amazing and you can drive down to so many places nearby
The only positive about this hotel is it is within walking distance to a drive up coffee spot. However, the night clerk was friendly. I hope he finds a better job!
