We were there to visit the National Baseball League Hall of Fame. If you love baseball or even just like it, you must visit. It’s a wonderful tribute to America’s national pastime. Definitely loved everything about it.
The town in general has great character. Nice places to shop with kind and friendly people working in the various venues. There are enough quality places to eat to satisfy most people’s needs. I look forward to returning to Cooperstown.

My husband and I traveled first weeks of off season when weather was mild and foliage colors alive. Arrived on a Thursday evening to check in and visited Hall of Fame Friday. Cooperstown is a wonderful throwback town in the mountains. An enthusiastic baseball fan could spend hours, possibly 2 days+ taking in all the history presented. Enjoyed visiting history outside of major city in this lovely landscape. Thank you to the residents of this beautiful town for keeping it alive. Visited late October, no crowds. Even though some places were closed for the season, we don’t feel like we missed much. Museum was not crowded so easy to take time and read to experience. Mel’s 22 was fantastic for dinner… best to reserve ahead.

We usually visit Cooperstown in the summer but the fall is much nicer. In the summer the town is packed with little leaguers, which is to be expected. There are so many other places to visit outside of Cooperstown including the Fly Creek Cider Mill and Oneonta which is 30 minutes away from Cooperstown.

Cooperstown is a charming village, very walkable with excellent restaurants and shops. We especially liked the Doubleday Cafe which had gluten free bread available. The Baseball Hall of Fame is located in the village with reasonable cost parking available a short walk away. The Fenimore Art Museum and Farm Museums are close by. A very pleasant place. We watched a baseball game at Double Day Field to conclude our very pleasant day there.

Cooperstown is one the most beautiful places to visit and stay. In fact we are considering moving there one day that's how much we love it. It's clean and safe and the houses are just so picturesque...the people who do live there should be very proud ....they take excellent care of their homes and make the area so beautiful. The lakes are gorgeous. The hall of fame is so interesting if you enjoy baseball...Doubleday field is awesome and well kept...the shops and restaurants are top notch with very friendly staff. Doubleday Cafe has the best waffle you'll ever eat...the Hawkeye Grill has the best cheeseburger and prime rib panini you will ever taste and the view is beyond heavenly. Bottom line, if you want a relaxed, fun, just plain nice vacation...you will never go wrong with a stay in Cooperstown.

Charming little town with lots of old Victorian houses.
Charming little town with lots of old Victorian houses. B/B houses everywhere. Town was immaculate, people were very friendly with plenty of good restaurants. Visit to the HOF is everything a baseball fan or a kid could ask for and more.
I had wanted to come to Cooperstown and experience the baseball Hall of Fame since I was a kid. I wanted to stay somewhere in the center of town so that I could walk to the hall and enjoy the benefits of the incredibly charming downtown of Cooperstown. When I checked in, I had no idea I was literally next-door to the hall! What a treasure, after a long day at the hall, I was able to go out to dinner and walk to wonderful places to eat. Have a few cocktails without having to drive and walk back to my room. I would love to come again.
Everything! Erin was just simply awesome and amazing. She runs a great, beautiful B&B. Exceptional cleanliness, relaxing environment. Absolutely the Best of the Best. Breakfast is great, proper and professionally done. Great tasting food, well prepared breakfast. Not one negative comment or complain I can give. This was a great experience I had with exceptional service. Top notch and magnificent service. Others maybe good in the area but Whisperin' Pines Chalet is the Best.
My husband and I loved the privacy and gorgeous views of our tent RR place. Dave, the owner was very nice and helpful and allowed us use of his ATV when our rental car couldn’t climb the steep hill to our tent. We stayed at a Tent RR in Vermont and it had warm bedding, but our Cooperstown location didn’t. Also we were charged an extra $100 for our stay and never found out why or got a refund.
it was absolutely IMMACULATE!!! I have never stayed in a cleaner hotel. The staff are so kind and considerate, from the front desk, to housekeeping, the wait staff in the Hotel restaurant-if you are going to Cooperstown, this is THE place to stay. The Hall of Fame is in walking distance as are so many other attractions, and did I mention the hotel sits on the shore of beautiful Otsego Lake?
The B&B had a lot of character and country charm. The proximity of the location was the best for nearby sightseeing to downtown Cooperstown or taking a morning jog to Lake Oswego. The homemade breakfast with organic eggs and biscuit were delicious, and our boys loved the afternoon homemade chocolate chip cookies. Owmer Fred was very friendly and hospitable.
All the staff were friendly and made us feel at home. We were there for the Cooperstown Dream Park tournament. By our third day, every staff member we encountered acted as if they knew us.
I would definitely return to this hotel if we came back to the area.
We had a pleasant, enjoyable time and were sad when we had to leave.
Great location, free parking, they accommodated our request for lower floor room, good information about surrounding area, there was a dining area available if you cared to bring in food, you can tell that efforts were made to provide the things expected in a hotel stay.
The property is very clean and well maintained. The lady at the desk was extremely friendly and very helpful. The location on the lake is beautiful and is not very far (around 10 mins) from downtown Cooperstown.
We couldn't have been happier here. They were so welcoming and pleasant. Breakfast was exceptional. We were up in Cooperstown for our sons baseball tournament and it was located perfectly.
Quaint, spacious and so close to everything with a dedicated parking space. We were able to walk everywhere and it made our time in Cooperstown that much better. Also good WiFi and cable.
Great view from our room over the lake. The indoor pool was small but it was great to have it -- we used it a lot. Hotel is well situated close to various restaurants and activities.
