Country Inn at the Mall, hotel in Bangor

Located 12 minutes’ drive from Bangor International Airport, this hotel features free Wi-Fi and serves a daily continental breakfast. University of Maine is 15 minutes’ drive.

I took my mother and mother in law for a get away and all 3 of us enjoyed this hotel very much. We found the beds a bit too small for 2 people and they had no issues switching us to a room with a cot with no extra charge. Breakfast was exceptional only problem was I saw a sign that said they served canadian bacon which all they had was ham and sausage but was still good. Loved that coffee was available all day and breakfast place was open at nights cause it gave us a place to play cards. Would highly recommend this place and will be back.

Has a lot to offer with a big city feel.

Has a lot to offer with a big city feel. Lots of restaurants, stores and places to watch sports, movies, cultural events. Not too far from the ocean or places to ski in winter or swim in summer. Lots of great hotels/motels. Bangor even has an international airport that is fairly close and easy to get to. The various Bangor expressways are numerous and easy to get to. The highway department keeps them in excellent condition year round. Bangor even has a casino downtown.

We usually visit Bangor once or twice a year for cross-border shopping. Over the years it seems the number of stores have dwindled. The Bangor Mall has very few shops actually open and no food court left. We will think twice before returning to shop. We always enjoy dining at Applebee's and had a great lobster roll at Chase's Restaurant. We did enjoy visiting Stephen King's home and were very pleasantly surprised to find the Cole Family Land Transportation Museum only 3 mins from our accommodations. It is a very well-laid out museum with transportation items from bicycles, sleds and baby strollers to snow ploughs, fire trucks and farm equipment . . . even a pop-up tent trailer from 1925! Well worth a visit!

Breakfast was very well presented in a large dining area (so easy access to tables) with two servers for the hot food (sausages, scrambled eggs). Hotel is a little outdated, but it is very clean and the staff are very helpful.

Kind of hard to GPS but finally got used to it. Fr Knox is a great tour and Paul Bunyan statue and Steven Kings house. Fun. Traffic downtown was a bit much to find a place to park and eat. Great Irish Bar at a hotel but I can't remember the name of it.

The highlight of our visit was the Galen Colen Veteran and Transportation museum. It has so much history of Bangor and from the WWII and the Korean War. My husband and I truly enjoy it. We highly recommend it.

Very nice room, quiet, decent breakfast, easy to get to spots for dinner and a short drive to route 95. Lots of thick towels in the bath. Pretty much a great deal for the price. I stopped here on my route home from Nova Scotia and was really pleasantly surprised at how lovely this little hotel is. Despite being off a busy intersection it was quiet. Plenty of parking and a handy elevator for getting up to the second floor. Lovely stay; I'd stay again if I ever needed an overnight in the area.

DO not stay at the Howard Johnson Hotel in Bangor. Their breakfast they offered was a bagged breakfast that included a banana, a yogurt cup, a cookie and a pizza pocket type thing. They advertise a great looking pool that was not open and looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years. The hotel kinda looked like a place you would rent by the hour if you know what I mean. At least we didn't spend a lot of time there but still spent a small fortune there for such a shitty experience.

The room was fine. Unfortunately, someone hit a telephone pole near the hotel/casino, so we didn’t get to stay in it. The power was out and the generator did not work. We had enough time to put our bags in the room and go to dinner. It was black when we got back. The hotel staff was very helpful, as well as the fire department, to get us to our room to get our belongings. The manager from another hotel across the street was able to provide us with a room.

The room was really quiet, especially overnight, where other hotels we could hear people in the rooms next to us. The room was spacious, and room/bathroom were exceptionally clean! We were able to use the pool and jacuzzi, which were clean and relaxing. Plenty of towels so we didn't need to go in search of them as needed. Excellent, courteous staff that were very helpful when needing supplies and answering questions. Awesome weekend!!
