Best Western Columbia River Waterfront Hotel Astoria, hotel in Astoria

This hotel is located off U.S. Highway 30, in a historical beach area on the banks of the beautiful Columbia River.

This room is perfect for our needs as it has a sofa for me to sit on for my medical needs and two very comfortable and clean beds. The dispensers in the bathtub ( shampoo, conditioner & body wash) were an extra bonus. The breakfast choices available were many and the hours for being available were great (6-10am) The front desk staff were supper friendly and helpful.

We decided to do a touristy weekend, came over form Portland. We found the perfect breakfast spot, very inexpensive and SO good! The Riverwalk Restaurant, the biscuits and gravy are to die for. Our favorite seafood place is South Bay Wild Fish House. We love walking the streets and going into all the groovy little shops. Took the Underground Tour this time which was so fun! Visited the Astoria Column which was so interesting and the scenery from the ground and the top of the column was breathtaking. The climb up the column had me out of breath so caution if you have medical issues or are just plain out of shape like me. My grandson and I went bowling at Lower Columbia Bowl when a beachside fire was out of the question for grandpa lol . Had a blast! We love Astoria!!

Love the antique and unique shops on Commercial in downtown Astoria. Toured the Flavel House, which I definitely recommend. Found a funky sportsbar called the MerryTime which serves giant juicy burgers. Love the sound of the seals and the maritime feel of Astoria.

We loved the location of the hotel. It was next to the river with a walking path.Every morning and evening we watched the ships come in and viewed the beautiful sunrises and sunsets.Downtown Astoria was easy to walk and offered many shops and places to eat.Just a beautiful old town with stunning views.

Astoria is a busy place, lots to do.

Astoria is a busy place, lots to do. We went down to spend time with young grandchildren and took a good friend and his son. Booking.com advertises This motel at $60 a night and it was $175 a night so we could not stay as long as we would have liked. I think misrepresentation like this is a crime and I felt cheated.. The motel blamed the price change on Booking.com.

    The hotel location was super.

The hotel location was super. We were within walking distance of a few restaurants. We ate at the Bridgewater Bay Bistro only a couple of minutes walk. The fresh caught halibut was wonderfully tasty. We also ate at a local Mexican restaurant, El Tiapatio, (10-minute walk) from hotel. The restaurant was colorful and food and drinks were great. Many locals were also dining there. The riverwalk is directly in front of the hotel. There is some construction on it, so it was not as accessible as it might have been. The Trolley is running only from 1-4 pm. Museums are a 30-35 minute walk from the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed the Heritage Museum with history of Astoria.

We booked this hotel while on our road trip and it was a perfect stop. The staff was very welcoming, the hotel is cool and trendy, the beds are comfortable, the homemade granola at breakfast was delicious. Upon check in we were told the hotel has an agreement with the nearby bike shop and cruiser bikes are free for one hour. It was great! I would recommend the bike path in the direction opposite to the bridge, much more scenic and quieter. Good for walking, running and/or biking.

Spacious, comfortable room, including good seating and a table, with views over the harbour, bridge and estuary. We were just overnighting but it would have been convenient for exploring Astoria, which looked interesting. Staff at check-in and breakfast were very friendly, and the breakfast was generous and tasty. If you would have difficulty carrying cases to the second floor, book a first-floor (ground-floor) room because there is no lift.

The bed was comfortable, pet area was close to the room, breakfast was real not a bagged breakfast and during the pandemic that was a nice surprise. The Astoria river walk runs behind the building so there was a wonderful flat without cars, for a place to take a walk. This is where the trolley runs also but was closed during our stay. The pet rooms are downstairs but I still had a view of the river.

Summer during Buoy 10 salmon fishing season in Astoria is very high demand. So the room prices were extremely high... like 2 to 3 times off season rates. The rooms are simple basic retro 50's minimalist motel furniture and decor. Beds were comfortable, everything was mostly clean. There is a refrigerator, TV and good wifi signal. It is located next to Pig N Pancake. Keyless room code worked well.

Property was on the waterfront with a beautiful view of the river and the Astoria Bridge. I loved the sunset and listening to the sea lions. Also made use of the trail along the waterfront behind the property. The property is convenient to the grocery store, restaurants, and novelties.

The view was beautiful and the hotel felt very modern. The complimentary wine and appetizer plate was great to help us settle in after our long journey. The bartender, Piotr was fantastic and a pleasure to talk to. The croissants at breakfast were fresh baked and delicious

No ac,so if the temperature is above 90, you do not want to stay here. Room is real small for $200 and there was not designated hotel parking, only street parking, no amenities like lobby coffee or a microwave to heat stuff up.

Cool hotel with very good vibe. They let you check out a turntable to bring in your room and play their records. It has a good blend of down to earth scandinavian and hipster. Awesome place and it's close to tons of cool spots.

There are few options in Astoria for hotels and fewer still that allow dogs. This has a nice location maybe 1.5 miles from downtown along a beautiful walkway, Wouldn't change anything.
