What a great lodge to begin a most remarkable journey in Tanzania! The buildings are terrific in Maasai style. But what is the most important thing: it’s run by the Maasai and lovely taken care of! We loved to sit on our terrace and watch Kilimanjaro. We enjoyed the food, drinks and hospitality. We will come again, is gods willing!

Just wow! We stayed at the large house and we absolutely stunned by the incredible view onto Mt. Meru. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We did several of the offered activities and loved all of them.
We loved it so much that we extended our stay. It was our favorite place to stay in our whole Tanzania journey.

This is the perfect lodge to escape the usual bubble of Tanzania safari tourism.
The lodge is run by the in partnership of the Watoto Foundation, which actively improves and improves the life of street children in Tanzania.
- Food was good and prepared with love and care.
- Breakfast was great, lot of fresh fruit, eggs to order and big portion
- Dinner was served in multiple courses. All nice, daily changing menu
- The lodge is run by solar energy so expect romantic lighting and a positive feeling of remoteness.
My highlights were:
- Coffee walk with local guide and women from the neighbouring village preparing coffee from green bean to roasting and brewing while singing Tanzania songs.
- Reading, meditation and spending time in the Tea room with view on the picture perfect swamp… waiting for the hippo to come by.
- Looking at the sky at night while sitting by the outside fireplace
- Visit of the neighbouring National park
