The house was located relatively close to town, which made going to the beach and restaurants nearby accessible and fairly straight-forward.

Great location. Close to beaches etc yet also securely tucked away in the beautiful mountains. Breakfast was amazing & most memorable mention is the host, Wayne. Felt completely at home. He’s so welcoming and accommodating. Definitely one of the best hosts I’ve stayed with & I travel a lot.

Everything was ok, the staff really need some additional training. They seem to lack enthusiasm in their work. not really putting out the effort to make our vacation memorable.

Secluded retreat. If you're looking to get away from the hustle & bustle then this is the best place to stay. Not many things to do but relax and chill. The restaurant's food was excellent, there aren't many other options for dining outside of the hotel due to its remote location but we had no complaints eating there.
My family and I always stayed around Crown point. This time our vacation was longer and wanted to stay more country quiet. So Castara was excellent. We did not have a favorite every beach village was a different experience. Our drive around the island was exciting.

The beach and local business around that area were awesome.
The beach and local business around that area were awesome. The restaurants all provided great food with diverse menus. There were a couple of restaurants that also featured night-time entertainment. African drummers, Karaoke and night-time bonfire.
The culture of the village was great where you got to experience the local baking delights offered a couple of times a week, though you had to be sure to book your orders to beat demand.
A true no-hassle environment where everyone was warm and welcoming.

Honestly, I enjoyed every part of my stay at Castara Inn.
Honestly, I enjoyed every part of my stay at Castara Inn. I had originally booked a different hotel, and at the last minute I switched to Castara Inn because I didn’t get the best feeling about the first one. I’m SO grateful that I changed my reservation. The room exceeded my expectations. The bathroom was phenomenal. The room was stocked with every single thing one could possibly need for vacation. Rhonda was so sweet and accommodating even before check-in. She allowed us to check in early and check out late. She had such a beautiful energy and made sure that everything we needed, we received. They had plenty of fruit trees on the property, and encourages us to pick as many fruits as we liked. Her recommendations for activities were all enjoyable. We were definitely sad to go. We would stay here again in a heartbeat when I’m back in Tobago.

If you’re a person that loves the beach and looking for a quiet relaxing atmosphere then Castara is for you. The beach is calm, clear, great for snorkeling and kids friendly. Castara has a supermarket and small eateries that sell breakfast/lunch. The people are warm, friendly and helpful. To move around with ease, you will have to rent a car or take the local bus that runs from Scarborough.

Castara was a great place to stay, very friendly people, just watch the opening times of the restaurants, they take it in turns to open. Big bay is more lively the small bay is very confined with one restaurant but has the best snorkelling
This is an absolute dream of a place right above the beach. It’s comfortable, clean and with a view you cannot compete with, especially if you’re in the Sunset apartment. The feeling of being totally in nature, sleeping with windows open and hearing the sea as well as occasional rain shower was so relaxing. Castara is a lovely little town with super friendly people. It’s good to rent a car to explore the island, although we also had many days of just enjoying the beach as well as lazy mornings with the view from the apartment.
Golden apple is perfect for a couple to stay in Castara. It has everything you need. The outdoor space is a bonus to sit and chill, listen to the birds that surround you and watch the world go by while drinking a rum or 2. Bruce and his family are marvellous, so helpful and kind. Make sure you have plenty of bananas to feed the mot mots and all the other tropical birds that wait for breakfast every morning. It's a joy to feed them, they will take it from your hand if you are patient enough.
This place is absolutely lovely! The studio was just perfect - clean, well organized, spacious and well equipped. The view from the mango yard is stunning and there's a trail leading to a private beach. You can see the birds and if you look carefully down at the bay you can see the manta rays. The staff was the best! They'll guide through your stay and make sure you feel at home. Location wise, you're about 10min away walking from the center of the village. Would definitely return!
Cottage Mango in Castara cannot be beat on price (budget friendly) or location. It is a 15 - 20 minute walk away from the central hub of the village with several restaurants, the beach, a pharmacy etc. It is in a relatively quiet area with the occasional loud speaker car but the cottage is quite intimate with a lovely terrace that is very breezy; do carry bug repellant. There is hot and cold water available and the water pressure is excellent.
Castara Retreats was the most amazing place. Our views from the Coasthanger were spectacular. We loved every moment of our stay and it ticked all the boxes we look for in a holiday. We would return in a heart beat. Thank you Porridge, Jeanell, and your team for the most wonderful time! We will not hesitate to recommend Castara Retreats to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday.
Castara and the whole of Tobago are like the Greek islands before the tourist influx from the 2010's. Peaceful bliss on a balcony overlooking (not even 10 metres) one of the most scenic beaches I have seen in my life. Simple wooden construction provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the Caribbean lifestyle. It is not for people who enjoy superficial luxury.
The location is exceptional in a quiet secluded bay - it’s slightly difficult to get to when you don’t know the roads and mountainous. Tom and Liz were wonderful hosts- helped us whenever we had any issue such as mosquito coils etc. The property is rustic and tropical - relaxing! Swimming in the bay is the best thing to do everyday!
The hosts are very kind, helpful, and welcoming. Community in Castara is very chilled and friendly. The view from the balcony is breathtaking. You have privacy in the accommodation, the only sound you hear are the waves - what better to wish for? Beach is right in front of the accommodation. Swimming is very pleasant in Castara bay.
Oh where should I start... It was just so amazing! We were taken care of so well and whatever we asked was answered and taken care of. We felt respected and appreciated and that people wanted us to have a lovely experience at Castara. The place was very lovely and clean, the terrace with a hammock made our experience even better.
There is no better place to live on Tobago! Alibaba’s Seabreeze has the best location in Castara and Castara has the best location in Tobago. The house is situated above the beautiful beach. Only few steps and you can swim with plenty colorful fishes on coral reef. Very nice and helpful Owners.
My stay at Castara was wonderful. The host give a great speech in the beginning letting you know all that Castara has to offer. They were very welcoming. The facility was beautiful, peaceful and clean. The prices were very reasonable and I would definitely stay again
set in the hills of castara overlooking the beautiful blue ocean. definitely a great place to calm the mind. due to the pandemic, many places are picking themselves back up. a very small community of extremely friendly people.
The hotel is located very close to the beach
Rooms are comfortable and clean
The best part however is the atmosphere, in big part thanks to Roachie, the hotel's manager but also due to how the balconies are set up
Very quaint location. The place was very clean. Toiletries available. The view of Castara Bay from the patio was amazing. Cool, relaxing, and a haven for bird watchers. Good value for money. Excellent service.
Very nice and spacy room with terrace
Beaurtiful view from the terrace
Close to the village
The best beaches on Tobago are around Castara
Overall we have enjoyed our stay and the view
The location is stunning. If you don't like typical all inclusive resorts and want to get closer to the life of the locals and the natural beauty of Tobago this is wonderful place.
