Amazing facilities, new, modern, clean, nestled amongst the trees.
Breakfast and dinners top notch and the lovely host is just the best; kind, helpful, great cook obviously.

Nothing to see except nearby shrine on tophills with stunning view of the town. Proximity to few Karen tribe villages.
Besides that the town itself has nothing to offer. No life on streets and most of business closed after 8 pm.

I did the famous Mae Hong Son loop on scooter for 3 nights/4 days and it was perfect. People tend to stay in Pai for a few days to make it a little longer, but since I didn't like Pai, one night stay was perfect for me.

We had three days in MHS the ( Dec31-Jan 3) New years eve down by the lake in the town was great. So much going on and people everywhere. Good food stalls and market every night and i recommend eating at the Good View resteraunt by the lake. For anyone who's trip in MHS is due to riding the Mae Hong Son Loop , this is the town to get your souvenier t-shirts, stickers etc. All in all Mae Hong Son is a great place to visit for a few days .I also recommend taking the side roads off the main Loop road.

Such a laid back, friendly place.
Such a laid back, friendly place. If you are near the small lake you are near what you need. Killer night market. This is maybe my 10th night market in Thailand and maybe my favourite. Good food and cheap. Beautiful setting at night along the lake. The viewpoint on the mountain is fantastic. Walk up the stairs and earn the view. Behind the Wat is a cement road going up and this is where you can look out to Burma. Rent bikes and make your way out of town, cross the Pai River and explore the roads. Great easy cycling. Biggest obstacle is the heat. We are both in our early 60’s and had no issues. Come for 3 days and stay for 9 like us if you can. The best Chicken Khao Soi can be had at Khaw Soi Panoon. Also check out the morning Market 😍
Just out of town (few minutes driving distance from the center), the location and value at The Crossroads House is hard to beat. We stayed here one night during our 5 day trip around the Mae Hong Son Loop and it was one of the cheaper places we stayed but also one of the spots we got the most value.
The hostess was really friendly though we didn't take advantage of the opportunity where they teach you to cook your own Thai dinner for 60 baht. I'm sure it would only have increased the value of our stay.
Cute little cottage in semi-rural area in the outskirts of town.
Very well equipped. Airco, shower and fridge work well.
We loved sitting on our little porch with a cold drink overlooking the green area and with the neighborhood dogs playing around.
You will need your own transport to go to the center of town. It's about 10 minutes on the motorcycle.
Mae Hong Son has a lovely night market and some very nice places to eat and drink around it.
We enjoyed our stay very much!
Only stayed here for 1 night, but really loved the location. Felt like a cute little town with all different houses and nice decorations! Bed was really big and comfortable, good working AC as well.
Location also very good if you have transportation. On scooter only 5 min to night markets in Mae Hong Son.
In the morning there was free toast with butter, jam and coffee/tea available.
Definitely recommend staying here! Very friendly staff as well.
We had amazing days at Boondee! Starting with the friendliness of the owner, always very smiling, ready to help and give tips on what to do in the region. The room is spacious, the bed is comfortable and it has a great size fridge! We stayed in the air conditioned room and it was excellent! The guesthouse is close to everything, we did practically everything on foot. We will definitely come back again!
Our favourite stop on the Mae Hong Son loop! Look out for the little sign as we went right past it! But when we arrived it was the warmest welcome from the most wonderful host! There wasn't anything that was too much, even lighting up the fire pit! Food was incredible and great value. Room was so clean, comfortable and modern and we truly felt at home. Cant recommend this place enough!
the kindness of the owner and all the staff in general, everything was always very clean, they help you in everything they can, at night Poon the owner gives you a free cooking class to prepare your dinner, after dinner they make a fire outside where the guests live, without a doubt for me after two months in Thailand it is the best hostel I have ever been to.
It’s a new hostel. Super clean. Central location and easy walk to walking street/local attractions. Spacious dorm. Nice social/common space on separate floor from dorms. Small locker for valuables along with privacy curtains, personal plug and light. Owner doesn’t speak much English but tries to help if needed.
Shangsin House is very clean, the staff is friendly and the bed was extremely comfortable for such an affordable stay. Very good value for money and everything you need in Mae Hong Son is reachable by walking max 15 minutes. The street itself has a bar and some restaurants which is great.
A true gem hidden a little bit away from the hustle and bustle of Mae Hong Son. The people who own the place are very nice and will help you with all you want to know about the town and around. We enjoyed our stay there immensely and would definitely go back.
Great hotel in Mae Hong Son. Easy to find, right on the main road, but just far enough out of town to be quiet and relaxed (but still easy to get into down). Beautiful reception, friendly staff, lovely rooms with all the necessary amenities.
Fern Resort is beautifully landscaped with two swimming pools and comfortable bungalows. Make sure you have enough time to relax and enjoy. The staff is very kind and the reception efficient. You need your own transport to reach the place.
Camp hidden in the forest in funky cool huts with full amenities - it was such a great experience. Located in serene surroundings while walkable to the center of Mae Hong Son City. A definite gem if you are visiting MHS!
The hotel owner showed us a local map and recommended walking to the local temple for sunset- it was wonderful. We also arranged a ride and a tour to some places on the way to Pang Mapha- it was fantastic.
Here, you’ll feel like home rather than just a guest house or hotel. The owner, Auntie Da, treat us like we are her family members. I believe she greets everyone with her warm kind from her heart.
Just loved this place. Great staff; big room (bungalow); incredible setting in valley with fields; delicious food at restaurant; just a few minutes drive from Mae Hong Son. Will stay here again
Super friendly owner, speaks good english and helps with all the stuff you need to know around Mae Hong Son. Beds with curtain, AC, really clean. 2 minute walk to the walking street.
Like most of Northern Thailand, mattress was hard and uncomfortable. But the room was spacious, very clean and location is good.
Guesthouse owner is friendly and helpful!
Amazing place, nice well-maintained garden even in the low season. Quiet, clean. Probably one of the nicest accommodation we stayed while doing the Mae Hong Son Loop
