I stayed here for three nights and I really enjoyed myself here. If you are looking for a quiet peaceful place surrounded by beautiful nature and a breathtaking view on the mountain nearby for a very fair price, look no further: This is the place to stay! Nuk, the receptionist, Kat the owner and her partner all have a very warm heart and are willing to help you with every question you have. There is free water for filling up your bottle and I even was allowed to use the kitchen for myself. Here you just feel welcomed and at home <3

The place is quite serene with a river flowing next to it and a large open area with shady trees to walk in. Bonus: The host accommodated us with vegetarian breakfast options. Oh, it's also within walking distance of the Chiang Dao hot springs.

Everything! Great food until you're completely full whenever you want to for a cheap price. Absolutely lovely family that will do anything to make your stay wonderful. They drived me here and there just because they're nice. The rooms are great with fans and extra sheets. They have nice hammocks in the common areas. The neighborhood is friendly and peaceful. There were many good working showers and toilets with soap and shampoo. Of course they offer scooter rental. There is a free local hot spring in 2km of the property. Rooms are very clean and they provide free drinking water and coffee 24/7 ...and lots of mango! <3

Welcoming little town well worth visiting. The temple and the caves are great but the best thing for me was that I stumbled into a bar up near the cave which is called . . The Cave bar. This place has to be visited if at all possible. Wonderful hostess and a really chilled, funky vibe.

Not touristic at all, and the local people not friendly.
Not recommend for solo travelers especially women. The treat very primitive.
No way to travel without scooter. There aren't taxi or bicycle available.
The nature around nice, also the caves. The mountain at night stunning.
The hot spring nice but not a big deal..
Nest 2 restaurant very recommended.

So if you'd like to get off the beaten track somewhat the Chiang Dao, the 1 hour bus ride north of Chiang Mai might be just the ticket. Nestled next to soaring, cloud-wreathed peaks, the pace of life slows down, there's interesting caves to explore, a riverside hot spring and Tuesday covered market.

We ended up staying 3 nights from the original 2 nights. There are a lot to see and explore. We didn't even go to the cave. There is a hot spring not far from town but the smell is too strong for me. Another one is Pong Arng hot springs, part of the Pha Daeng National Park, some 30km out from the bus station. Tickets are 100 baht for foreigners adults, 20 baht for Thai nationals which also admit you to the Sri Sangwan Waterfall some 5-6 km from there. The longan plantations as far as eyes can see, and the mountains view as the sun sets are just beautiful. You may get "lost" in some picturesque cul-de-sac temples or villages which you will never regret!

Chiang Dao is a lovely place to be with nature.
Chiang Dao is a lovely place to be with nature. The hot springs are a highlight, and many accomodations offer a view of the awesome Doi Luang.
From Chiang Mai the route is very simple and close enough to be comfortable (about 1hr30mins).
It's a great place to relax, reconnect with nature, maybe hike.
Great place! 5-7 min of driving from Chiang Dao main street, and also from the famous Chiang Dao cave. All rooms here are technically houses, each of them has a living room, a bedroom and a bathroom (even with a bathtub)! Houses are spacey and clean. Owners are super friendly!
I highly recommend this place for anyone who's looking for an accommodation in Chiang Dao, it's not expensive and really awesome. I'll definitely stay here again during my next visit.
Very kind host and a nice local town. Host is always available when you need him and makes you feel very welcome and at home. The breakfast was very nice and fresh and the coffee was the absolute best! He arranged a taxi for us aswel and we had a lovely walk to Chiang Dao Mountain Reset which is a nice place with live music and good food. This place and stay was truely a highlight of our trip and we will recommend this to our friends and family for sure!
central location in Chiang Dao made it easy to find when just off the bus from Chiang Mai. fortunately for us, the managers son? was able to get us 2 scooters for our two days there. we were able to explore the area well on bikes. if we didn’t have these our stay would’ve been very different snd very likely it would’ve been a disaster.
the room was very basic, clean with 2 bottles of water, soap and towels included.
The hotel was modern and the bed was very comfy! It also boasts a roof top dining area with magnificent views of both the mountain and the rice fields, good place to chill and unwind in the evening. Good breakfast was provided for a small cost. There is also a very affordable massage shop along the main road just a short walk from the hotel. Would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Chiang Dao!
Noi (the host) was exceptionally kind and wonderful. I felt like I was at home. The hostel was always clean. It is a small hostel and not very busy so I made friends with everyone who stayed or passed through there.
Chiang Dao has been the kindest place I've stayed in all of Thailand. I loved every minute of my time here. And I would highly recommend Chiang Dao Center Hostel to everyone!
The atmosphere at this resort is so serene and quiet. The owner is extremely friendly and does everything to make you feel welcome. Breakfast is delicious with lots of fresh fruit, amazing coffee and freshly made eggs (omelette, fried, …). Great view of Doi Chiang Dao (the mountain) right from your breakfast table. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. 100% recommendation!
A few month ago, My partner and I had stayed Ashi Guesthouse for our first time visit Chiang Dao, WE enjoy our time very much in Jack's Room. This is a second time that I am booking a room for my parents anniversary and they had such a great weekend away at Ahi Guesthouse. Thank you so much for Khun Oil and her staffs who made everything so wonderful for my parents.
Nice guesthouses around a small pond in a village. A bit far from downtown Chiang Dao but not too far. Atmosphere very nice and a great place to relax. We enjoyed "coming home" Community area great, bungalows good, everything worked, also that little balcony is a plus.
great view from the balcony! worth it all. the place is nice, rooms are big, it`s a little outdated maybe as an old house but defantily worth the money and i will stay there again for sure!
the guest house owenr`s are very sweet and doing what ever they can to help:)
The location is perfect- less than 5 min on foot to the hot springs. The land is beautiful and well kept, it is by a little stream and really lovely to chill. The owner is super friendly and cooks breakfast each morning. My favourite place to stay in Chiang Dao.
Beautiful, relaxing property with a river running alongside it! One of the nicest hostels I have ever stayed in. The hosts were very kind and even called in a mechanic when our motorbike (which we rented from a separate company) got a flat tire!
The owners were very nice. They greeted me as soon as I arrived and explained a lot about Chiang Dao. The room was extremely clean and big. The land around the room was huge and well maintained. Beautiful settings.
Very quiet, peaceful and clean. The location is very comfortable to go around the town. Doi Luang Chiangrai is just in front of our bedroom. If anyone would like to “leave the world behind”, this place is the best.
The best view you can wish for when you wake up
The host is the kindest person ever he rent us a motorbike which is needed
Breakfast was very good and the hotel is nothing like you can expect: it’s better
Lovely room with a balcony overlooking Chiang Dao Nat Pk.
Room was clean, comfortable and quiet.
Resort is located away from main roads etc - very peaceful.
Restaurant is pleasant with nice food.
Friendly owner who treats guests as the relatives who visited her home. Fantastic Doi Luang mountain view right from the yard! Kitchen and utensils are available 24 hours
The location is great with wonderful views of the mountain. Access to the pool. The hotel grounds were beautiful, especially at night. The staff were very helpful.
