The place has a quite good infrastructure, i.e. bus stop <5m from the gate where many buses stop, on lines between two big towns together with local lines meeting here, giving quite dense traffic. Little grocery store at the end of the opposite street (ca. 200m maybe), open every day morning to evening. It is thus quite almost ideal if somebody wants to visit the neighbouring places via public transport. Some historical monuments nearby (and many more in the town center).

A planned hiking trip for 2025 needed a field visit between Komárom and the town. Other places around the town was left out, it would need 2 extra days.
For a meteorologist like me, Hurbanovo is the home of meteorological observations
Hurbanovo is consisted of two formerly separate villages (the old Stará Ďala and Bagota). A formerly empty area between them was the yard of the Konkoly-Thege Manison where the family built the first Meteorological, Astronomical and Geomagnetic Observatory in the late XIX. century, and then in 1925, the Hungarian Met. Society formed there as well.
In the 1960s, the area was built in, which forms the united towns' central area now (recognizable from the buildings built in the style of that era). Stará Ďala is also the birthplace of the painter Árpád Feszty, and Bagota was the central estate of the Ordódy noble family. Thus, there are quite many monuments and memorials in the town (though most of them which are out of use are in very poor condition, and rumors say that the town's Mayor's Office does, or can, not care too much about them).
I've got to know few days after my stay that the staff of Hungarian TV series 'Hazajáró' was filming there two weeks before my stay (the series is an educational series introducing the history and geography of pre-Trianon Hungary through existing monuments and memorials in towns and along hiking trails.)
