Fabulous hosts who picked us up at the train station. After checking in they drove us to a restaurant in the next town as none were open in the immediate area.

The room with the stunning panoramic view was clean and comfortable. The food downstairs was very good and reasonably priced. Parking was easy and accessible. The center of town was a good 25 minute walk so we drove and parked in the central underground parking lot. Easy. Nice shops and the Porto del Sol is a beautiful park with another stunning view.

Santarem is a small city north of Lisbon which is non touristy with a small but pleasant old town with a maze of narrow streets and old churches.
the city park the Portas de Sol is a wonderful place to relax in the shade.
It is within the old fortifications on a high ridge with stunning views of the Tejo river below.
The city has good traditional restaurants which are popular and cheap but close by 10pm.
City is a good base for surrounding region and has good transport links in all directions.Lisbon is less than an hour by train and Evora is ninety minutes by bus.

Santarém is called the portuguese capital of Gothic style in Portugal. Wonderful tyles in the market and the railway station. Excellent meat and fruits. May be one of the hottest places in Portugal in Summer, almost 40° C.
The place was clean, at the center of town but quite an uphill walk to get into Santarem if you are walking a camino. A restaurant is downstairs and many cafes around the corner. I can hear footsteps above me and those going up and down the steps, as well as some sounds from the street— but if you are tired after a day of walking, it doesn’t matter. Overall very good experience.
I did not realize how remote and isolated the location was when I booked it. There is no where to go. It's not a good choice for someone without a car. I booked it only because there was no where else available in Santarem. I arrived hungry, without dinner and there is nothing around. The owners are extremely nice. They ordered a pizza for me. Nothing is in walking distance.
It was like a boutique hotel, beautiful design features, wonderful pool, perfect for soaking your feet after a long day hike on the Camino. Enjoyed a glass of wine at poolside, beautiful place right on the Camino. Ruth was a very gracious host. Didn't want to leave the next morning!
This hotel is located on the top of a hill, near the centre of the city. The position is also appreciable for the climate. It can be smoothly windy in the summertime, enjoyable. It offers comfortable rooms and a good restaurant.
Breakfast and dinner usually are delicious.
Ana was very helpful. She was very accommodating and even offered to do our laundry. She gave us a map of Santarém and pointed out the highlights and restaurants. The location close to downtown and the train was great. We were very pleased.
Whomever did the room decor had very good taste. Room was clean and a pleasure to stay in. Everything matched and was themed to "cereal Vitoria". I had room 32. Very impressed.
Nice staff. Very old hotel having been born on this city i am glad its still around. Reception area looks nice and friendly even though the rooms are very diferent
