Pucallpa is more relaxed than Iquitos but The jungle in Peru...
Pucallpa is more relaxed than Iquitos but The jungle in Peru is difficult in general for white foreigners. There is a lot of racism. It’s difficult to feel like a human being because everyone just treats you like an ATM and like you have an obligation to support them and their five kids.

It is not my favorite city in the jungle.
It is not my favorite city in the jungle. Not a lot to wander around. People are very kind. I recommend visiting the boiling river but the bride's veil waterfall was a rip-off: too much travel time for something not amazing at all. Food was great everywhere, specially in: Tuyuyo, el Toro Pez and Ukaw. We had breakfast at Manish hotel and it was the worst decision because everything was flavourless and not many options.

People are great. Some good basic local food.
People are great. Some good basic local food. City is filthy and extremely polluted. Very dusty and trash everywhere. Motor taxis are very cheap. Markets are fun. Beautiful shipibo handcrafts. Best is to explore areas outside pucallpa.
Manish is a magical oasis in Pucallpa with wonderful staff. I met fascinating people on their way to or from adventures in the rain forest. Brilliant conversations with devoted young people working to support indigenous communities, save the rain forest from illegal logging, learn from the Shipibo people, and grow as human beings exploring a variety of plant medicines. I was able to book a guide to explore the bird sanctuary and butterfly sanctuary down river. ( I encourage Manish will offer this adventure to their guests- )
Beautiful and quiet little eco-lodge amidst the busy Pucallpa. The cabins were spacious and comfortable and the property was extensive and lush. Perfect for a few days of rest and relaxation after a medicine retreat. We had dinner and lunch a few times and they offered to accommodate dieta regulations. We had lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant a few times and it was always very tasty. Will stay there again next time we're in Pucallpa.
The hotel is conveniently situated near the Plaza de Armas (center of town). The restaurant has some of the best food in the city and I am grateful to the chef for making me pasta primavera (with lots of fresh vegetables). The hotel grounds are immaculately clean; the staff is friendly, accommodating and helpful. I received one of the best massages I have ever had (and I say this as a practicing massage therapist!).
Casa Andina is a amazing hotel in the centre of Pucallpa. Staff, facilities, and other things is so amazing. Thanks to Bruno a manager for a unforgettable welcome and for breathtaking good bye lunch. Lila second manager and all receptionist many thanks for your support. Thank you for all the buena comida to the kitchen staff. We have a very great time and see you soon. From 1 to 10 CASA ANDINA 12. 👋 👋 👋
If you’re looking for a cheap hostel in the city center of Pucallpa with a host (Juan Lister) who knows all about the city and its surroundings who also will go out of his way to help you with whatever you ask for :) I can’t emphasize enough how friendly and welcoming this place is. 10/10 saludos Olle de Suecia
The hotel is lovely, nicely constructed, and decorated, the pool is very nice, and overall our stay was very enjoyable, quiet, and pleasant. The staff was accommodating and friendly in bringing food to our tambo and attending to some additional needs as well. The food from the restaurant was also delicious.
Location is great. Unfortunately the only place that they clean is your room and not thoroughly. Stairs handrail always dirty, swimming pool dirty, some ornaments in the hotel dirty.
And despite being told about it nothing is done
Simple, clean and quiet hotel in an excellent location, tended by super friendly and helpful staff. Nothing fancy yet perfect for what I needed. I appreciated the free shuttle from the airport too.
It is a kind of "Oasis" in the middle of Pucallpa city, all the 5 start I gave above is because of they deserve it, please keep it like that, I would never stay in a different place in Pucallpa.
The pool is pretty nice but sadly not much sun during day. The hotel has good location, close to everything. Daily room cleaning if needed. Good wifi connection everywhere.
I stayed here for the second time and I think that's the best value for the money in whole Pucallpa for a traveller's who's looking for a one - two nights stay 👍
We were taking a boat from the port early in the morning so this hotel had a great location and a storage area where we could put our supplies for the trip
