As the end of the Geiranger Fjord, the village is constantly under a constant flow of tourists coming with the huge cruise ships.
The village per se has nothing else special versus other Norwegian villages on any other fjord, but this constant movement of people from the ships gives it the opportunity to be super busy and even more expensive than the normal expensive Norway.

It is probably one of the nicest areas of Norway, and the Geiranger Fjords should be visited by everyone when in Norway.
Despite the distances involved, visitors should get out and about, driving cars there requires some skill and attention, but the roads are well maintained. (Watch out for hikers and bikers!).
A day trip to Alesund is also recommended!

Geiranger is one of the most attractive destinations in the world , the nature itself is a reward and what i suggest is that the concerned authorities can add more services here and there to meet the needs and the expectations of all tourists from all over the world , like more supermarkets , more shopping options etc

Nice little village but very touristy when cruise liners are in. Limited choice of restaurants. Lots of tourist goods shops, boat trips available along with kayaking etc. A nice place to chill for a couple of days.

The cabin was well equipped with microwave, oven and kettle. The place is clean and the bathroom was very spacious. The space was just nice, compact but not too small. There was also laundry in the bathroom and dryer close by. This was a real plus as I was travelling around Norway for over 25 days.
The location was 5 mins from town and the road to and from town was very easy. Great location with beach view

So many natural beauty places to see around here, and hikes to do. I would recommend hiring a boat for fjord exploration at your own pace. Taking a short drive to the Dalsnibba viewpoint is a must, as well as to any of the other close-by viewpoints. Walk the steps next to the powerful display of water flowing into the fjord. Take a canoe/kayak and see the many waterfalls from up close.
The cabin was spotlessly clean, well equipped and nicely furnished. We particularly loved the comfortable seats facing the large window with views of the fjord. This was an amazing, small camp site in a beautiful location. I’ll never get over the views. It’s a short drive or 35 minute walk to the lovely small touristy town of Geiranger where you’ll find a small supermarket. There are numerous walks and hikes nearby and there’s also a small stones beach attached to the site if you’re brave enough to get in the icy cold fjord water.
the view from the front porch was spectacular. I don’t you can find a better one in Geiranger. I found the cabin very clean and equipped with common use items. the shower was large by European standards with lots of hot water. Geiranger is a small village with limited places to eat so I enjoyed making my own breakfasts and dinners (packed lunches for hikes). the places had a lot of character to them and they were situated for privacy
The drive down to Geiranger was beautiful! Vinje was tucked away in the mountain. We arrived at night so we didn't see the view but we were so pleasantly surprised to wake up to a beautiful view and giant mountains making us feel small! The nature itself made the location and stay sooo worth it! The cabin itself was very comfy and cozy! There was a patio deck to enjoy the view. The staff was very nice and even gave us an upgrade!
Stayed here for 2 days to celebrate my birthday and it was everything I hoped for. The staff were so kind and attentive and went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of. The evening meals were of Michelin star quality. Incredible! The view is the best I’ve seen yet in Norway. I loved every aspect of my stay at this hotel and highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed!
The owner is extremely friendly and cares for making your stay truly exceptional.
We excepted a great apartment but got more than surprised by it. The view is amazing, it is equipped with everything you need. It feels cozy like a traditional norwegian cabin, but has modern parts where needed.
If you stay for some days in Geiranger, you have to book this place!
What a wonderful experience it was! The home is lovely, well situated. Ian and his wife were very generous and gracious hosts. Our room was clean and very comfotable. What a view!
Ian is a true ambassador of Norway! It was a pleasure talking to him. It was a very delitful evening. Ian made our trip more personal and genuine.
Norway is beautiful, and this location is no exception. It has a nice view of the Geiranger fjord, and there are 2 small waterfalls within the compound. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was ok for us (family of 5). Remember it's a cabin for travelers, naturally not as fancy as hotel, but worth the money.
LOVED the view from the cottage; LOVED the location on the shore of the fjord; LOVED that they had a simple motor boat , SUP to rent affordability. Our private evening boat ride up the fjord was so peaceful and beautiful.. one of our favorite adventures of our NORWAY adventure.
The guesthouse is in the most stunning location on the Geiranger Fjord. The cabin is spacious and has wonderful views across to the Geiranger township. The facilities in the cabin were excellent, and the space was excellent, with a beautiful view across the Fjord.
Cosy feeling, smart and cheerful staff, wonderful view from the window. Just up Geiranger fjord you will be immersed in a majestic mountain scenery.
Comfortable rooms.
At the time of our visit the hotel didn't serve dinner, only a simple, good breakfast.
The view on the Geiranger Fjord was spectacular, the location was great and quiet, but not in walking distance to the village. The cabin provided all we had expected. We didn't use the shower and we knew, we had to share toilets with other guests.
The setting of the hotel is wonderful. The new addition higher on the hills is fabulous. The lower original section where we stayed is "tired" and needs some work. The room was very clean and the hotel serves a fabulous breakfast.
It was the best accommodation that we had so far in Norway. Everything was absolutely perfect. Really nice, modern, clean hut with kitchen, bathroom, cool view, etc. Helpful staff, really great experience, few minutes from Geiranger
Perfect location.. with unobstructed view of the fjord. Not walkable distance to the center of Geiranger so better keep in mind the closing times of the restaurants or supermarket.
We loved our stay, very cosy & insulated hut
I always wanted to stay in Geiranger, and this time, it worked. The camping ground lies on a steep mountainside. The view should be great if it wouldn't rain the whole time. The kitchen is really well equipped.
Amazing facilities, the spa was extraordinary.
We had a great room with gorgeous view to the fjord and a big and cozy bathroom.
Loved the vibe of the hotel and will definitely be coming back!
Hotel is the best in town. Restaurant is buffet style, but it beats most alacarte restaurants. Stunning selection of high end food. Stone crab at a buffet? Yes!
