When I arrived at this property, it was under construction and the owner has a second hotel in which I stayed.
Welcome therefore was a bit disjointed, but at the new hotel I stayed at which was 600 m away. The staff are friendly.
The hotel was well equipped with nice rooms, and a great ambience the food was good and served in a buffet style.
I’ve given them a rating of eight overall, because of the obvious need to relocate because of the construction works that were taking place. However the hotel I stayed in I will give it 10 to.
This hotel is located at the entrance to the Sahara desert, in M’Hamid el Ghezlane. It features a spa centre, and a top-floor terrace with panoramic views.

The auberge is kind of wonderful hideaway. Very quiet, with simple, but very clean and cute rooms.
The food was amazing ( ate my best Tajine of our whole marrocan trip, breakfast delicous and rich). The two guys who run the auberge do an excellent cooking.
Also booked a private tour to the desert, which for me turned out to be perfekt: away from the big camps, alone under a quiet sahara sky and my guide Mohamed played the guitar after a tasty meal at the camp fire... Although we couldn't quite communicate in a common language we had a funny time.
After sunrise I sat there all alone at the highest dune to listen to the silence of the desert.
Couldn't have been better.

A busy village with normal Moroccan/Desert life and passing tourists.
Only a few tourists stay overnight. Limited number of restaurants. People are very friendly and welcoming.
The whole village can be walked in 40 minutes. We had food at AZWAD which was nice.
The tourist shops are typical of Morocco but not too pushy.

This small town is the entrance to the Sahara desert, so it’s an advantage for those who come for the trekking or the desert tours. The disadvantage is the sandstorm that hits directly the houses and streets of the town.
Nevertheless the people in the town are cheerful and friendly, they welcome the visitors with lovely smile
The town is rather new to the local people, a few km away from the town, the vast oasis spread in which embraces several Ksars with ancient earth and cray buildings. One can explore those ksars, meet the people in the communities, that is a precious experience apart from the camel rides or trekking in the desert.

M'Hamid is the perfect gateway to the Sahara Desert.
M'Hamid is the perfect gateway to the Sahara Desert. The village exudes a peaceful atmosphere, and the locals are incredibly welcoming. We used M'Hamid as our starting point for an unforgettable desert adventure. The camel trek into the dunes and the night under the starry sky were simply magical. M'Hamid is a hidden gem worth exploring!

Perfect place to start your trip into the Sahara desert.
Perfect place to start your trip into the Sahara desert. We went to the Chegaga dunes, 60 km by 4x4 on dirt tracks. There are several bedouin camps you can book for an unforgettable overnight stay. We booked with Chegaga berber camp. We highly recommend them.
The return trip was 90€ (900 dirham) and well worth it.

Very nice and calm village with simple people.
Very nice and calm village with simple people. Village is big oasis what makes it very beautiful with river Draa, kasbahs and palms. There are many shops, beautiful mosque and the desert around, from where you can start your track.
Mhamid you can look by your feet. But for go to desert better take a camel. You can take 4#4 but this will not give you feeling like you are Bedouin one :-).
100% the best place to stay in Mhamid. For this amazingly low price you get better service than some of the fancy places in Marrakesh. The team is very kind, the cooking is delicious and the air conditioning much appreciated. But my biggest recommendation is - ask them to organize the trip to the desert and camp for you. Our guide Hamza was truly amazing, thanks to him we got much more than most advertised tours offer for less money. If I were you I would do the full service with the oasis lunch and the camp.
The location next to the dunes and a “palmeraie” was very nice. Even though the hotel is under renovation, profiting from the few guests that arrive during the summer to this part of the country, the manager made everything in his hands to make our stay as good, comfortable, and enjoyable as possible. Dinner was very well prepared and abundant. The bungalows decor has a good mix of modern and traditional styles. Once the renovations are over, the hotel will look great!
I loved every moment spent in this Sahara luxury Camp camp. The desert deserves more than one night. You have to feel time pass like sand between your fingers. The welcome is worthy of Morocco's reputation for hospitality and the food is sublime and generous. At night the drums resound in the night around the campfire. A once in a lifetime experience. (I laugh..in fact to live several times). See you soon Saïd and his team
The desert luxury camp was the highlight of our trip to Morocco. The camp's setting in the dunes was breathtaking, and our tent was like a five-star hotel room in the middle of nowhere. The staff's warmth and hospitality made us feel at home. We enjoyed the traditional Berber music by the campfire and indulged in delicious Moroccan cuisine. It was an unforgettable escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
We had a wonderful stay with Younes. He has been a super friendly but not intrusive host who made us have an unforgettable stay.
You don't need a camel tour, quad biking and no frills? Then you can enjoy a beautiful night with sunset, candlelight dinner, campfire and an unforgettable starlit sky at Berber Camp M'Hamid.
Don't expect it to be a 5-star hotel, everything is kept simple, but very clean.
The camp is charming, very clean, with much cleaner and more comfortable bathrooms than those in conventional hotels. Aziz is a great host. He made us tea, chatted with us and served us a great dinner and breakfast. He also provided us with all the bottles of water we asked for and, desert, that's worth it. Beautiful evening entertainment by the light of the bonfire with drumming and dancing.
Had a great experience, we were treated extremely well with good food, company, clean and cozy atmosphere. The hosts Younes and his cousin are real Sahara locals who have been living in this area forever. They are super respectful, calm and friendly.
They also organise multi-day camping trips into the Sahara, I’d definitely want to join one when I have more time on the next trip to Morocco!
Very suprisingly beautiful facility outside of the town in the desert. The garden was full of palm trees and with possibility to sit under tent. Rooms for quests are situated in separate building with own entrance to garden. Rooms was really clean, the cleanest we have seen in Morocco. The host has prepared excellent dinner for us and was very pleasant. I definitely recommend it.
Omar is awesome. The room was perfect for our night before our desert tour. Dinner and breakfast were excellent.
Omar also organized our awesome desert tour as well and it was great!!!
The internet speed was really good at the hotel and you have cell service with inwi at the camp.
Omar treats you like family. Thank you Omar and Hamza!!
My friends and I stayed for one night in this Mhamid luxury camp. My only regret was not stastaying two. From the time we got on our dromedaries and were escorted to the camp to our farewell dunes ride back we were amazed. So beautiful, peaceful and FUN!!!! We enjoyed every moment. Thanks to Omar and crew for making our stay unforgettable!!!!
Wonderful stay. Very friendly hosts! Wonderful cooking skills. We would ( seriously ) come back to Morocco to visit yahya and Hassan and Ahmad Great place for world travellers who seek meeting new people and experience different cultures. Yaya had organized a tour for us one night under stars in a quiet bivouac into the heart of the desert
I have to note that we arrived late (by bus) Then we have spent a day at the desert camp (camel riding, lunch, walking) and it was very nice! I was pleasantly surprised by staff (very nice people!) and that they spoke english rather fluently and help us to organize trip 4x4 to chegaga desert. Decent accommodation for such a place.
Amazing camp close to Mhamid el Ghizlane. Even in the dark it was very doable to drive back tot the camp. Aziz welcomed us with tea and made us feel welcome. The facilities are great, normal showers and toilets. Aziz even helped us getting our car out of the sand early morning. Would definitely recommend!
This was probably the most unexpected experience of all the accommodations and hotels we stayed in in Morocco. A small hideaway run by an admirable lady and her staff. Dinner was freshly cooked, nothing pre-made or reheated. We will definitely be back! Our advice: Book it, you won't regret it.
Everything about the hotel was exceptional. The room was spacious and every detail was beautiful, the gardens and facilities were exceptional and tranquil, and the staff were so hospitable. We had a lovely stay and couldn’t recommend it more.
Many thanks to Mohamed and Ali for the great experience and the wonderful hospitality. The location of the camp is really close to the big dunes, the dinner was excellent. We also enjoyed the ride from MHamid to the camp, it was great fun.
I live in Morocco , I visited many deserts, so I always look for authenticity whenever traveling.
And this is what I found in Larbi’s place. It has been a great experience which will stay in my best memories of Morocco.
Thanks Larbi!
Super friendly and very helpful owner. You can directly walk in the Sand dunes next to the hotel. We also did the Sahara Tour with him and really liked it. Dinner Was really good as well.
Ali is an amazing host. The surrounding dunes are peaceful and give a sense of freedom. The living is simple but this was my highlight of 5 weeks in Morocco.
