This hotel is basically "you get what you pay for"; it's quite cheap and therefore if you don't expect much (eg no bottled water in the room) you'll be fine. There's a nice bar (Tanger Inn) in the same building and the Rooftop area is also good with an excellent view over Tangier Harbour. Although the general location is great (very near the old historic part of town), the hotel itself is on a bit of an uneven hill which taxi drivers don't seem to like much and also with homeless people occasionally camping out at night nearby.

The view from the deluxe double room at the rear of the hotel over the bay of Tangier is stunning. The pool was warm enough for us and big and sheltered enough for a relaxing swim. The staff are exceptionally welcoming, cheerful and friendly. I had read in previous reviews that families keep returning because of the welcoming family atmosphere that all staff create from the concierge to the cleaning lady and the waiters. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the dining room that overlooks the bay which was accompanied by a young lady singing well known songs in French, Spanish and English with a really beautiful voice which made for the perfect conclusion of a busy day sight-seeing in the Medina and Kasba which are only a short walk away. I was really touched that the management did not charge us for the first night which we had to miss because the ferry from Tarifa could not sail due to a very heavy storm (I had informed the hotel of this unavoidable delay and had asked them to keep our rooms for the second night). I really wish we could have stayed both nights as I was beginning to feel at home straight away. Some people have remarked on the slightly tired looking furniture here and there but to me it just added to the homely old-world charm of this hotel which is very cosy instead of its size. I would definitely stay there again were I to return to Tangier. Loved it!

My stay at Crystal Boulevard Hotel was initially pleasant, with a smooth check-in process. Then, my experience took a downturn during checkout.
After checking out, I received an email stating that I had left a review ('EXCEPTIONAL) and rated my stay 10/10, which I had not done. I suspected that this might have been done by the receptionist who handled my reservation on my phone.
I tried contacting the hotel multiple times, but my calls went unanswered until the fourth attempt. The receptionist claimed she had no knowledge of the incident. I then visited the hotel to resolve the issue face-to-face, but she continued to deny any involvement and informed me there was no manager available.
After involving the police, the manager, who was eventually contacted, arrived and apologized for the confusion. I appreciate the manager's gentleness and prompt apology, which helped resolve the immediate issue. I also contacted booking support about the review, and then I edited it.
While I appreciate the manager’s intervention, the overall experience was stressful and frustrating. My review reflects both the comfort of the room and the substantial inconvenience during checkout.
