It's an amazing hotel sited on top of a hill overlooking on one side Lake Toya and on the, a bay being part of Sea of Japan and one has a 360° view of the entire valley lake and mountains including of Mt Yotei in the distance. Its also a beautiful n lavishly appointed hotel and one of its many claims to fame is being the site of a G8 Summit hotel in 2008. It has many lovely restaurants, a great onsen plus a nice golf course to boot. Locals regard this hotel as Hokkaido's most prestigious hotel, and one can fully understand once you stay there. The staff are so professional and courteous fm the doorman to everyone you come into contact as they all seem so conscious they have a very high reputation to maintain as The Top hotel in the region. A Must Return to hotel.

Had absolutely no regrets picking this hotel! Yes eventhough it is quite a distance to get here (definitely need a car — 10-15 mins drive from the main town), the rooms were large, toilets were actually so clean and comfy and spacious, and the view of the lake was incredible. For the price we paid, it was super value. Also if you’re lucky, you get an incredible view of Mt Yotei just right outside the hotel. Yes the reception was very simple, no breakfast provided(they do have a couple vending machines outside the property), but it was no big deal if you have a car. Lake Hill Farms(a very cute cafe) is just located down the hill, short drive away for your breakfast/lunch needs. Definitely would come back here again if we visit Lake Toya!

The view is super amazing as we got the room facing Lake Toya. Bed is comfortable and the room is spacious too. There is bathtub inside the bathroom and you can have a good soak while enjoying the scenery outside. The staff is very friendly and helpful too.

The view was excellent if you had a lake-facing room. Had a mixed room (2 western beds + 2 futon) for 3 Adults + 1 Child (3 yr old) which was a little tight but ok for 1 night stay. Toilet was tiny but I was enjoying my bath at the public bath/onsen on the top floor of the building.

Hot spring baths at Toya Kanko Hotel are located in a cave, or indoors and outdoors offering panoramic lake views.

Great view from our room, right over the lake from where we were able to watch the firework display in the evening. Room was clean and comfortable - no issues at all. Hotel is centrally located, within walking distance from the bus station and tourist information centre. You would need a car, bus or taxi to get out to the cable car to Mt Uzu though.

The staff is polite and responsive. The location of the hotel is amazing (especially when travelling without a car). The onsens were clean (unlike the images I saw) and we enjoyed them. We managed to watch the fireworks both night. The boats doing it are starting from this hotel and then going to the most right hotels. If you go infront of the hotel you can see the whole show clearly, from the room you can probably see 85% of it if you are on a higher floor.
