There were beautiful gardens in the city including the wonderful botanic garden. The castle was also interesting. In addition, Okayama is a wonderful place to stay with day trips to wonderful cities/sites such as Hiroshima, Kurashiki, Naoshima or Himeji Castle.

We originally wanted to stay in the art museum hotel on Naoshima Island, but it was 6 times the price and not available anyway. We somehow found this is an unknown gem, its creation funded by a foundation that brings together artists and architects to increase the presence of Okayama as an art destination. The light and design of this space are unique and interesting and spacious. The bedding was luxurious quality, as were the robes and white night wear and slippers.

Free pastries for breakfast. The room is clean and good. Overall I had a great stay. This isn't an ordinary Japanese business hotel.

Yet the hotel is nicely quiet, clean, comfortable and elegant. Staff speak perfect English, and is particularly helpful and warm to every customer. Breakfast was excellent and allows you to discover local products (as well as everything you would expect to see on a great breakfast buffet). I would 100% return there if I were to travel to Okayama again.

The owner offers bike use for free. I stayed for 2 weeks and found the place very quiet and guests very respectful and owner friendly, welcoming and considerate. Use of washing machine also available but use between 8am and 8pm. Okayama I found very friendly, lots of flowers and nice bike rides into the countryside. God hub to explore other cities and islands in the area.
