Wonderful, secluded masseria in nature. It is located in a very relaxing setting, great place to disconnect from the world. The room was comfortable and there was enough space. We had both a bathtub and a shower which was nice. Even though we could not control the heating (only the A/C that did not put out any warm air) the temperature ended up being fine for the night. There is a tennis court and a swimming pool (which is weather dependant, still closed in April). The local wine is fantastic and I definitely recommend the tiramisu.

It is a very nice little city with lots of restaurants and bars for any kind of public. The sea has a wonderful colour, it is super clean (at least while we were there) and behind the lighthouse there is a super beach with rocks, it looks simply GREAT.

We enjoyed walking around the town and beach area.
We enjoyed walking around the town and beach area. We travelled to the Bauxite Lake which was nearby and hiked around it and then down to the ocean. A highlight was going south and swimming in the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. We hired a boat for the two of us for 3 hours for 60 Euros. It was absolutly amazing and the grotto's were beautiful. The water color was just amazing! A highlight of our trip to southern Italy.

It is a really attractive town, with pretty streets, a castle and a lovely old cathedral. The cathedral has some spectacular Byzantine floor mosaics. In grim contrast, the Martyrs Chapel contains the bones of 800 Christians massacred by the Turks in 1480. We spent an enjoyable couple of hours exploring and ended up for a good mojito and beer on the front.

Very interesting old town, beautiful castle and churches, etc.
The old part of town is full of charm and pleasant to strall around. Eating on the sea front, watching the boats come and go, real relaxing holiday.
The surroundings also offer possibilities to visit impressive caves and the famous cava de bauxite.
Our stay in this property was definitely the best stay of our journey through Puglia. Especially the warmth of Lorena and Francesco, the hosts, have made us feeling super well. From serving a welcome drink and recommending the best beaches, the daily smalltalk was great. We decided to have dinner in the property every evening - Lorenas Apulien cooking skills were super and opulent.
We didn’t have a car through our journey, that’s why we had to rent bikes for the stay - no public traffic in the surrounding.
Serene country property within 10 minutes of Otranto and dozens of beaches. The home is the actual lovingly cared for and decorated home or the owner. It’s massive and well appointed with an amazing deck view.
The host was amazing. She treated us like old friends and was available for any needs.
The pool was a life saver during a heat wave.
Everything was perfect. We stayed during a long trip across multiple countries and 10 different stays. This was by far the best.
The room was attractive, comfortable, and quiet. Comfy beds. Spotlessly clean, excellent daily housekeeping. Amazing breakfasts. Comfortable shaded seating to relax with a book or a drink. The historical building has been painstakingly and beautifully renovated. The hotel is very close to town, so it’s easy to walk to beaches, restaurants, historic town center, etc. Exceeded our expectations — highly recommended!
The location of the hotel is extremely good, right on the ground floor there is one of the best restaurants in the city, and there are dozens of them within a radius of a few hundred meters. But for bests you need to have a reservation, otherwise you will watch from a distance how others devour delicacies. This is a recommendation that you should do right after the check-in if you love fine dining.
So Happy I found La Zudrea B&B. It is a hidden gem tucked in a quiet neighborhood just outside of Otranto. Salvatore makes one of THE BEST cappuccinos in Puglia!! Breakfast is served on the front lawn overlooking their family olive grove. Rooms- nice size, simple decor and clean.
Salvatore is full of helpful information about the area, restaurants and parking tips for your day trips.
This property is amazing !
10/10 for everything !!
Best location with huge outdoor terrace overlooking the Marina.
Located in the old town and walking distance to many bars, shops and restaurants.
Very comfortable and tasteful fit out. It was great to have a washing machine , Netflix and cold air con.
We were very impressed and would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Otranto.
The architectural design of this hotel is exceptional. Lovely staff were so helpful arranging covid tests for return journey. The pool is huge and never too busy which was a big win for us! Otranto is an easy 10 minute stroll with beautiful shops and loads of restaurants (>40 restaurants). Salento is a beautiful place and we can’t wait to return back to Basiliani in future!
The hotel was lovely, the receptionist was so friendly but professional, he answered all our questions. We actually loved the Spa facilities & the spa lady was so lovely, she explained every single thing we need to know & she went above & beyond. Highly recommended if you are staying in Otranto, location is not too far from the Otranto train station. We had a lovely stay!
Everything! Beautiful pool and rooms
Family run hotel and everyone was amazing, friendly and helpful, rooms were so spacious, lovely breakfast every morning with lots of choice, clean, comfortable. Such good value for money and the hotel is in a fantastic location, we recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Otranto. Grazie mille!!
Outstandingly clean and quaint boutique hotel in the heart of beautiful Otranto. The entire staff is friendly, helpful, very professional and courteous. Breakfast on the breathtaking rooftop including local delights like Pasticciotto should not be missed. The staff provided recommendations to amazing beaches, sights, restaurants, etc.
Despite 10 min walk to beaches and the old town....Franco & Nana are among the best hosts I've ever come across in a B&B. Kind, courteous, helpful, full of fun and just the right amount of wish to please. Top that with immaculate rooms fit for a luxury hotel....cannot recommend Vele Sorrento highly enough...just book and stay. Ron
Tiny BnB/hotel, with parking on the street and easy walking distance to the historic area. Federico and his family were great hosts and extremely friendly. And they serve an enormous breakfast. Highly recommend if you are looking for a very clean budget place walking distance to everything.
We loved the location, the modern decor, however simple in general, it passed the idea of nice and clean. The room was not big, compared to other hotels, but we spend most of the time visiting the area. The staff arranged a great private boat tour to the area. I'd certainly come back here.
Sandro, the owner, is extremely welcoming and will do his best to make you feel comfortable during your stay. He shared his knowledge of Otranto and all the amenities in the area. The room was very comfortable and spacious. Location is excellent and walking distance from the beach.
It is in a perfect location… Away from the chaos of the city, but still a five minute drive. And the property is within minutes of all the best beaches. The covered terrace in front of the apartment was perfect for hanging out, having breakfast or other meals…
Gorgeous peaceful location, delicious dinner in the restaurant (yes please lobster linguine), lovely friendly and helpful staff, great pool, comfortable and clean room, easy to get a taxi into Otranto when we didn't want to drive.
I had really nice stay and one of the best during my vacation trip through Italy. Walking distance to historical city center. Unique place as a combination of luxury camping and proximity to the city center.
Lovely hotel, good location just south of Otranto. Pool is immaculate, facilities very clean.
Great lifeguard all week!
Overall grounds are really lovely and groundskeepers are there each day . Great work.
We stayed at the Queen Suite, excellent room size and services. Staffs are more then friendly, really helpful! The location is very near the best beaches of Puglia! Love the stay and will be back soon!
The location was probably the best thing about the hotel. We ate breakfast and then everything for the rest of the day and night was within really easy reach.
