Just stayed one night after long train ride arriving in early evening. Nice reception area etc. Room was nothing special but then nothing terrible, just overdue for a new fit-out, but was it clean and a good size and even had a door to open onto street etc. Priced right for budget travellers, or when you just want a bed for the night to break up a long train trip. Breakfast was actually very good in the nice area downstairs and we left for the station soon after.

Fabulous hotel. So nice to stay in a real staffed hotel in this age of AirBNB. Very clean premises, comfortable bed. Nice breakfast area and excellent breakfast foods. Room was spectacular - large bedroom, good bathroom, kitchenette, and a large sitting room with couch and large work table. Good location - easy walk to and from train station and ferry terminal.

It was a simply wonderful stay. The hotel is beautiful and spotlessly clean and the room was perfect. It was spacious, pristine and decorated superbly, in fact even more beautiful than the photos. The staff were delightful - they were all so gentle, kind and friendly and went out of their way to help us.
Breakfast was delicious and included lovely home made cakes and biscuits + granita.
The position of the hotel is excellent, in fact our room had views over the sea, and there is easy access to the port and the main attractions such as the Duomo, the stunning astronomical clock which is a must see and the theatre opposite the hotel.
We will most definitely return, this hotel is 5 stars, a boutique style hotel with the highest standards. It was such a pleasure to meet the staff who make this hotel so special. A huge thank you to you all.

We had the room with dinner included. The dinner was worth it since it was a full dinner with drinks included. Giusi was an amazing server and a person.
The room was quite good and bed was quite comfortable. I would say it was worth it.

we stayed 4 nights, allowing enough time t spend in Messina as well as use it as a base to travel to other Sicily locations. it had great walkability although the sidewalks/curbs were a little challenging with a suitcase. the noon Duomo show was definitely a highlight

The town is Ok for a day & night.
The town is Ok for a day & night. The cathedral at 12pm is the biggest thing in town and it is worth a look for the curious. Note all the bars around the square have a surcharge just to sit down - which they don't advertise. Try the Sri Lankan restaurants around town, delicious food at a great price.

we only stayed 3 nights, the area we stayed was very busy not far from ferry crossings. We visited Taormina and Cefalu, 2 nearby cities. Didn't get to see much of Messina itself. Did visit beach which was very nice.

Messina doesn't have a lot of attractions - the Camponile was interesting to see at midday, as well as the Norman cathedral, for which you could really see the Mudejar influence - something I found surprising for Italy.
OTOH, it also means there were fewer tourists about, which suited us to a tee.
If you are into hiking, it looks like the mountains above the city would have some nice trails with views out over both the Ionian and Tyrrhenian seas.

Messina was really just a jumping onto Sicily spot where I met up with friends coming from other locations. great for our trip to Lipari, otherwise I would not have stayed three days.
There were good restaurants and some not so good so always look at the menus first. and check open times, there is no such thing as a late lunch as they all close by about 2.30pm
Interesting history and buildings.
Just explore, you will find hidden treasures.
Big cruise ships stop here so the city can get very busy.

Visiting Etna was great.
Visiting Etna was great. It’s about 1.5 hrs away Nothing open on a Monday so walking around town was a bit of a waste. There really is not much to see. Taormina which is about 45 minutes away is the place to spend your time.
FuoriSquadra was a treasure accommodation! The B&B is quiet, ideally located with an incredible view, large, modern rooms with 5 star amenities. Eva has an ample, typical Italian breakfast of an assortment of pastries, yogurt, coffee, tea and juices. The common area of the B&B is wonderfully laid out and furnished, with a huge deck looking out over the Straight of Messina. Charming, comfortable and relaxing. The decor is chic and upscale.
The staff was very kind, always keen to help us. The breakfast is very rich and tasty varying from salty foods to sweets. Cleaning was exceptional, every day the bin was emptied, the room cleaned and vacuumed, clothes and stuff folded. The hotel is placed relatively close to the center of Messina but a little far away from the beach but there are buses that work all day. I greatly recommend this hotel if you visit Messina :)
I had a wonderful stay at Jolly Charme for 4 nights, where the staff treated me like family. They went above and beyond, serving breakfast even after I overslept and allowing me to use their lovely kitchen area to work past checkout time. They also warmly welcomed my guests with coffee. This hotel truly prioritizes guest care and satisfaction, making it a highly recommendable choice in Messina.
Beautifully designed hotel with the wonderful mix of history and contemporary design. Excellent shower and comfortable bed. For us it was an opportunity for quiet relaxation before heading back to North Italy. We were given excellent advice on restaurants, cafes and significant places of interest to visit. Kind and thoughtful hospitality from the people running the hotel.
This is a really nice apartment in Messina located a short walk to the historic centre. The Botanical garden down the street was a real treat. The hosts are very responsive to any concerns, and acted quickly to rectify some missing amenities. In fact, they really went the extra mile to make me happy. Everything in the apartment seem very new.
The apartment is very clean and organized. It's beautifully decorated and in a very good area of Messina. 5 min walk to the center and quiet at night. I ended up staying longer because I had a great time and Antonio the owner was always helpful and polite! He suggested activities and helped me go around the city. Super recommended!! 10/10
Several breakfast items were provided - e.g., lots of fresh yogurts - and the coffee was quite good. The location was opposite one of Messina's ferry terminals, which I was hoping to use to visit Italy, the toe of the boot. My son and I were within walking distance of many other interesting activities.
The location is quite good,we can reach all main sights of Messina by walking. The rooms and very cosy and decorated is a chic style. I really love the interior decoration style of this hotel. From the window of our room,we can see the landmark of Messina La Madonnina del Porto.
Beautifully decorated spacious property in great location. Katia waa a great host. Provided plenty of breakfast supplies for our 3 day stay. Couldn’t have asked for a better property in Messina and great value for money for our small family.
The hotel is close to the ferry port at Messina and a ideal place to stay. There is a secure underground carpark and the staff were friendly. The bar was nice and the breakfast delicious with a wide variety of food.
Very spacious and well appointed property. The view of the Straits of Messina and the water traffic was breathtaking. The property was very clean and our host supplied us with the ingredients for a light breakfast.
Quick and smooth check-in. Balcony with view over the port and strait. Very convenient for Messina Centrale station and many nearby points of interest and places to eat. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom.
The property was very close to Central station and the port. Inside very new rooms with modern decor. Wonderful staff nothing was a trouble. I’d definitely stay here again if I came to Italy. Rosalind
The room I got was more like a small studio, with separate hall and kitchenette. I stayed only one night, but had it been only about the hotel, I would have liked to stay longer! Very good value!
The appartment was excellent, it was a pleasure to spend a night there, would’ve loved to stay longer!
This is a great place to enjoy the views of Messina’s harbour.
Thank you Patrizia!
the host is really nice, likes to give very good and honest tipps where to go and what to do, also the B&B is in a very safe part of messina, theres a supermarket right nearby
