Quiet, off the beaten track, great hosts, felt like home. The place is a bit tricky to initially get to, but is most definitely worth it. Very calm, relaxing environment with great hosts. A truly relaxing break in such a beautiful setting - the photos do not do it justice. Definitely a treat but worth the expense.
Our room was lovely and we enjoyed all of the facilities: pool, spa, gardens, food / bar. Yes, the hotel kitchen only does breakfast and lunch but (1) there is a good bar menu to go with sundowners and (2) there are plenty of great restaurants nearby which the staff are happy to recommend / book. And their help is readily offered - we booked a cooking class and taxis through reception, and found everyone to be friendly and helpful.
The hotel is isolated (which adds to its charm), so we would recommend hiring a car so that you're not limited to taxis and can take the odd day trip around Tuscany during your stay, to nearby San Miniato or even Lucca / Florence / Pisa / Livorno which are all within an hours' drive or so.
