ALBERGO 900Strati, hotel in Almenno San Salvatore

Located in Bergamo, 1.9 km from Centro Congressi Bergamo, ALBERGO 900Strati features a bar and views of the city.

Although would suggest that codes and instructions are given a number of hours prior to arrival time, as we were also gonna arrive pretty late and finished having delays in both flight and car rental pick up. We cannot but commend the reception we were given from Molla who made sure to make us feel very welcome, by helping us find the right parking place outside of the property at 00:45am and gave us a glass of Prosecco to help us start the trip in a sparkling fashion 👍

the only person even remotely friendly was the chef.

the only person even remotely friendly was the chef. They had very few of the listed choices on their menu. The owner was bad humoured and rude. The taxi driver charged me double the price from the airport and again on a trip to Bergamo. A radio-taxi driver was horrified to hear about this when he charged me a lot less. Buses back to Almenno from Bergamo stop at approx 7pm so if you miss that (I did twice, the first time because I didn't know the times and the second because the train was delayed coming back from Verona). If visiting Bergamo, it would be much cheaper to specify 'in Bergamo city' in your search. Northern Italy is far more money-grabbing than Rome which was an excellent place to visit. The area is absoutely worth a visit, just beware of being ripped off. (and remember to check if there is a kettle!). I offered the one I had to buy to the hotel owner (having already given them a knife, a bucket, port, unopened food etc) and he rudely said 'I don't want.' I would have thought it would be useful to them for any future guests and as I could not take it with me (baggage restrictions) I just gave it to a random stranger. There was a weird, unwelcoming feel to the hotel and I could hear a woman shouting at a man at night I found upsetting.
