Perfect place as a mid-point in a long drive. Virtually ZERO to do, including only a gas station grocery only. But as a "motel 6" type option, it was better than average.

Owners have done the "extra" mile here. It was the most welcooming experience in a hotel/room i ever had. They had thought of every need you may have. You can find anything you want in the house with instructions, from how to make your waffles (they offer you all the ingredients there with homemade jam) to musical instruments, to turn on the hot pool so that you find it ready when you go. Highly recommened. And the best location for northern lights, we just went out of the house and we saw the magical show of northern lights above us.

The house is beautiful located at the edge of the fjord, There is another house just next to it. There is enough privacy for both houses. The interior is made with love. I loved the spacious bathroom. The bed was very comfy.
When the sun shines it can get very hot inside, but we could open all kind of windows, so it was no problem, i liked the sustainability of using the sunheat.

The woman at the reception was very friendly.
There was 24/7 coffee and tea for free.
We only stayed a night, arriving in a blizzard. It was absolutely stunning, the hot tub and sauna in the snow were simply breath-taking. We didn't even get a chance to check out Hvammstangi, unfortunately, but next time I will definitely stay here again!

We loved everything: the cottage, the view, the nice short talk with the owner, the aurora on our second evening!
The main restaurant at the village near the cottage is pricy but very good: save for it if needed, it is worth it (and needed as there is no kitchen in the cottage 😉).
The water could be ice cold at first, be patient, it will soon be (very) warm. Talk to the owner before your stay, it will explain the reason better than me!
One last point: the owner talked about a path to go to the shore of the fjord, but we didn't found it. Make sure he explain it to you clearly.

We stayed here for one night.
We stayed here for one night. We where a little concerned considering the remote area of the country. The owner greeted us very kindly and made us feel like at home. Once you step in you can feel the love she has put in to this place. I was really happy on how clean the house is. The bed limens where so clean and ironed. ♥️ the backyard was adorable. She had waffles for us and a home made jelly made. ♥️

Just a short walk out of town but far enough to be quiet and private. Guesthouse was a wonderful surprise. Modern, clean and a very well equipped kitchen for guests. Host even threw a pot of coffee on in the morning. Full fjord view from our bedroom. Turned out to be one of our best overnights in Iceland.
This is a special place outside of town that feels like an old European guesthouse. It's both very personal with photos and decorations of beloved animals and family heirlooms, yet also private and quiet. Our room was quite small but very comfortable. Free breakfast was a great feature, and it was lovely to be able to have dinner in-house as well. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Would stay again.
Of the 4 places we stayed in Iceland, This was the best one. It is a great old farmhouse with tons of charm. History of the house was available to read as well. The view is amazing, on a cliff looking over the water. The downstairs was comfortable for hanging out. Kitchen well stocked and the bed was was very comfortable. I can't say enough. If you are travelling the Ring Road stay here.
A great location on a farm, just next to a peninsula with its fair share of attractions (go check out the nearby Seal Center in Hvammstangi for a better understanding of the region's cutest mammal before driving around Vatnsnes to spot some seals lounging on rocks). Andrea was a very welcoming host, I really enjoyed talking with her and the breakfast was a nice bonus.
We stayed in the first unit, closer to the entrance. The place was roomy, with enough space for our luggages (which was always a problem with hotels). The water did have a strong sulfur smell but other than that, the place was very nice. The views are spectacular and there is a small town very close to it so gas and market are easily accessible.
This was second time on this hotel, the location is pretty good between Akureyri and Reykjavik for an overnight, worth a visit to the seal beach to check the seals, really cool during the "summer" and hvitserkur.
Breakfast is simple but good enough to get back to the road. A very good restaurant at walk distance, but make a reservation.
The cottages are exactly as new, comfortable, and beautiful as the photos. Very well designed. Almost everything you’d need is provided. And the views out every window are gorgeous. Fields, rolling hills, the fjord in the distance, and Icelandic horses prancing around in the field next door.
The house itself is very unimpressive from the outside, but inside it was decorated with incredible attention to detail. Really cozy and by far the nicest and cleanest shared bathroom of our entire Iceland trip. We slept really good and the check-in is uncomplicated.
This place is one of the best place we stayed in Iceland. The property is very clean with beautiful view. It has everything you will need for a stay. The nearby restaurant is also awesome, also of the best restaurant we dine in Iceland too.
The best place in whole Iceland 🇮🇸
Beautifully decorated. Calm atmosphere and good energies.
The apartment is well equipped with everything we needed and more.
They thought of everything!
The owner is super nice, welcoming and worm.
This was the most beautiful cottage of all the cottages we have had in Iceland so far. Large room, perfect location, cute shabby chic interior (not just Ikea), great shower products, nice hosts.
Outstanding guesthouse - really clean, spacious, modern. The breakfast was excellent even though none of us expected to get anything. Nicole was a super kind host. Highly recommended!
very cozy place and you can enjoy the authentic Island farm life. The owner has 2 arctic foxes, running outside the house. Just one whistle they will come to you. so cute!
Felt like we were staying at home not at a hotel. The room was small but had everything we needed. Breakfast simple but very delicious. Coffee/tea available at all times.
