The moment we arrived we were met with friendly faces and great service. Everyone made sure we were having a great time always. They even packed us a lunch since our flight was at 6am and we had to drive for an hour to the airport. Appreciated the attention to detail and the good was amazing as well.

Rethymno has the right mix of old town charm, modern hotels, a beach and a nice promenade. Plenty of places that serve authentic Greek food at very affordable prices, nice shopping opportunities, a pretty good beach - overall, I think Rethymno is better than Heraklion or Chania for a vacation stay.

As with everywhere in Greece, food was phenomenal.
As with everywhere in Greece, food was phenomenal. I even enjoyed the humorous "hard sell" barker at a dockside Taverna. "Are you hungry? You look hungry! Your hunger is subconscious!" and so forth. As an overweight psychiatrist in the States, both my wife and I were rolling in laughter. "If he is hungry now, what will he look like when he is full?"

We have stayed here before but last time further out of town in a villa. This trip we stayed in town within walking distance of everything. There are so many different restaurants we could have stayed for six months to sample them all. Would recommend finding the little tavernas up the little side streets for the most interesting dishes. House wine is great value and nearly always decent. If you want to splash out a bit a private boat rental to take you up the coast is well worth it and can be found in the old harbour from a number of vendors. If you like a beach there is a fantastic one that stretches from the East end of town. And if you don't like the sand there are some steps to access the rocky area of the sea to the west of the castle.

Lovely and quaint old town, with plenty of shops. cafes and restaurants. Its extremely clean and well maintained. We loved just wandering the streets and each time you notice something different. We ate in the old town 3 times and each meal was fabulous.
It's an apartment hotel run by a wonderful family which does everything in their power to make you feel welcome. It was a real pleasure to stay there and always having someone around to ask for questions or help. The apartments are also completely renovated and therefore modern and very good looking - especially the balconies are real plus points.
The location of the hotel was also very fitting for our needs: Only 2 walking minutes from the beach, supermarkets, restaurants, cafés and also only 10-15 minutes walk to the Old town.
The location of Batis Beach Hotel was perfect for us. It is right across the street from the beach with an awesome view of the ocean and a short walk to old town. Lots of shops and restaurants steps from the hotel. We liked that we had a small kitchenette to cook some of our own meals. Large grocery store was right around the corner. The staff was exceptional... I can't say enough about the staff. Very kind and helpful. We loved our stay at Batis Beach Hotel.
Great location right on the beach, the main road is behind hotel. Better to take sea view rooms. The rooms are simple with a very tiny shower. But everything is very clean!! A littlile far from the old town -a walk of 20 min-but not very comfortable. But there are very nice restaurants within 5min walk also right on the water!
Special thank you to Eva!! You helped me so much with arranging the visit to a doctor with my hurt foot. I hope you had a great vacation!
Everything!! This boutique hotel is absolutely amazing!! Right on the beach with very clear water. The rooms are spacious and very modern. The food is next level from breakfast to beachside lunches and delicious dinners . We were there 5 days and didn’t have any meal anywhere else. The staff are fantastic!! They made us feel more like family than just visitors. Dimitris and all the girls are beautiful young people . You would be crazy not to try this hotel.
Nico and everyone else were so friendly, a real Cretean welcome. From snacks on arrival, complementary food and beverages and even the odd gift. You are made to feel very welcome. There’s also an honesty bar and a drinking water cooler available. Everything worked in my studio apartment and it was spotless.
Parking is available. The beach and the old town are a short walk away once you get your bearings. A well stocked supermarket is next door too.
The staff was very thoughtful and kind at this hotel! They decorated our room very very nicely for our honeymoon. Additionally, the room was very elegant and romantic. It was the perfect combination of rustic and modern. The breakfast was also very delicious. The hotel is located in the old town of Rethymno which was a great location for us to explore nearby. We are very happy we stayed at Amalen Suites during our time in Rethymno for our honeymoon!
This is a nice hotel. We had the only room on the top (5th Floor) with a large outdoor terrace. It does face south though and gets very hot, if you want some shade then this is not the room for you. There are 2 air-cons in the apartment which worked extremely well to keep the place cool. Pool is good and was quiet when we were there. Hotel is just one block from the beach which was lovely. It was about a 15 minute walk to the Old Town.
We visited Rethymno briefly before while in Crete and liked it so much that we chose to come back and stay in Anna’s fabulous boutique hotel. The historical old town is beautiful and the hotel perfectly located in the centre. Anna gave us an incredibly personal experience offering guidance and pointers on sightseeing and restaurants to visit. Anna and her whole team made us feel so welcome and cared for.
Mr Stelios ensures guests are welcomed and comfortable. There are lots of areas to relax including poolside with excellent views of the Med. Across from hotel is a small beach and swimming spot. It’s an easy 15 min walk along the sea wall to the old town.
Reception recommended and booked us a table at Galera restaurant (turn left from hotel, approx 12 min walk).
Spent 2 weeks at Eltina Hotel. Room 621 which is in the back of the Hotel. The street was quiet. Good location, very close to the beach. 20-30m walk to old town. Rooms and bathroom were clean. The bed was comfortable. The kitchenette was good. Breakfast was good but nothing special or greek. Sun umbrelas are available to borrow. Easy parking.

The White Swan staff and hotel are Exceptional! Maria, Maria, Dori and the rest of the staff went above and beyond during our stay and it felt like home. Everything was new, clean, comfy, up to date and close to the beach, shops, restaurants, old town etc. I would give them 100 stars if I could!
Eleni was a wonderful host! The hotel is located in the old town and is beautifully decorated with a perfect mixture between old and new.
It was very neat and clean (which made me extra happy)!
Note: as this is a renovation of an old building there’s no elevator.
Just go there!!!
staff excellent. good location on the beach - 20 minute walk from old town. lovely rooms - spacious and light and clean. liked the addition of a smart TV. pool area great and superb breakfast. staff always went the extra mile which was appreciated by ourselves and all other guests
This boutique hotel in the middle of Rethymno’s lively old town was a delight to return to throughout our stay, offering luxurious comfort, peaceful calm (both indoors and out), and a warm and always welcoming staff. Daily breakfast by the pool was exceptional!
