Place spotless, great cakes and wine! Wanda is a great host and looks after the apartments well. We liked being a few km from the coast , great views, quiet and a cooling breeze. If you get a taxi to the top of the Agia Irini gorge you can walk back direct to Spiti Mas. Not too far away (about 30 metres) is a lovely restaurant serving proper Cretan food with a smile.

Offering a traditional restaurant and a sun terrace, the family-run Porofarago is located in Sougia, just 30 metres from the entrance to Agia Eirini Gorge. Free WiFi access is available in all areas.

Paleachora is a great town and Hotel Aris is a very good place to stay. Well positioned with everything you need. The breakfast was exceptional. Every day there was a huge selection of fresh food with different Cretan specialities. The hotel owners are very friendly. Our room was lovely - decorative but simple. There is a beautiful garden with hammocks and different seating areas. A really terrific place.
