Well maintained, beautiful historic building. Room was spotless, comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was varied and delicious and staff were courteous and friendly.

Great location. Excellent fun. Even as adults we enjoyed the games in the garden. Room was comfortable. Just what was expected.

The room was clean and comfortable and serviced daily. The breakfast was very good. The location was excellent for the restaurants in the centre of Woodstock and for exploring Blenheim Palace which was only a 10 minute walk away. Buses into Oxford ran every half hour, cost £2, the journey took 40 minutes and the bus stop was a 5 minute walk away.

Beautiful small town.
Beautiful small town. Plentiful accommodation and restaurants, most of which were dog friendly. Ideal for visiting beautiful Blenheim Palace and nearby Oxford. We ate at Punchbowl pub , good friendly service, very dog friendly, food and drink good. Would not stay at Macdonald Bear next time but probably at one of the many pubs that had rooms.

Just a quiet ‘market’ town, mostly individual shops where all the staff working in them were genuinely interested in serving you and making conversation as to why you were visiting and where you’d come from.

Our trip was fundamentally to view the lights and the house at Blenheim Palace; the theme was Sleeping Beauty.
We arrived at about 3pm. Just right as dusk was setting in. We toured the house which was utterly incredible - How a person or company could put together such a phenomental piece of design, unchanging in its beauty, throughout the rooms that had been decorated to continue the theme - I do not know. To continue outside and see the light display was nothing short of sensational - it lit up the whole of the 1.5 miles of the walking tour and the evening sky. An unforgettable experience. The next day we shopped through the village enjoying its ancient buildings and some of the shops filled with objects d`art , clothes, furniture and lighting. An experience that cannot be better but can be changed...........in summer.

Woodstock is a pretty medieval town with many eateries, interesting shops, a free museum, lots of walks and, of course, Blenheim Palace nestled next to it in all its splendour.
Apart from the main Street, there are many attractive side streets to explore.
The buildings are attractive, being made from the local stone which was also used to build Blenheim Palace. They appear to ‘glow’ in the sun.

Woodstock has everything you could want from a small town – plenty of nice pubs that serve food, independent cafes and shops, including a great little independent bookshop and Louisa Maybury’s amazing textile shop.
The greeting by David and his staff throughout, including Laura was excellent. Check in went well, we had a super evening meal and also rally good breakfast the following day. Our room was much bigger than a normal hotel room, almost a separate lounge area, with an L shaped sofa. The nice touches were the real tea leaves and cafetiere and the water and cold milk on ice for all guests left outside the room in the morning. The wet room shower was excellent with super tropical shower large head. Well done the Crown we will be back!
We stayed in a premium room and we were delighted with it. Large and comfortable. Excellent location for Blenheim Palace which was the reason for going. Picked this hotel due to reviews on parking in the area. There is a charge for parking at the hotel but this was invaluable as did not see a vacant roadside parking slot during our entire stay.
The accommodation was fresh and up to date. We appreciated the tea, coffee and milk provided. The shower was good and bed so comfy. Being able to park on the driveway was a big bonus. The location was quiet and perfect to be able to walk into Woodstock and to Blenheim Palace. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again if in the area.
Location, location, location! Lovely to have been able to stay so centrally. House was comfortable and just right for a short stay in Woodstock with Blenheim park virtually on the doorstep (if you know where the town gate is!) and plenty of shops to poke around and superb restaurants and pubs.
The Marlborough Arms is a nice hotel in a great location. We had a good size Superior Deluxe room. The breakfast room is pleasant and the breakfast was brilliant, good quality foods with plenty of choice.
Fantastic staff, all are very friendly and extremely helpful.
The King's Arms offered an ideal and inspiring venue for a weekend in Woodstock. An amazing price deal for an extremely comfortable, beautifully decorated and well-equipped room matched by a very warm welcome from the staff. Both lunch and breakfast were delicious.
From the friendly service we received on arrival, the beautiful rooms which exceeded our expectation for the price and the great value breakfast, I would highly recommend this hotel if you are planning a visit to Woodstock.
Beautiful property, the customer service and experience was excellent. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Woodstock. The breakfast was also excellent!
The hotel is situated right in the middle of Woodstock, fantastic location, right next to the Woodstock entrance to Blenheim, old hotel with lots of charm.
