The Beach Hotel, hotel in Washford

The Beach Hotel offers incredible views across the Bristol Channel and the West Somerset Railway. Situated in Minehead, this luxurious hotel is on the outskirts of Exmoor National Park.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The room was large and clean. The curtains were very thin so the sun came through really early but that’s only a minor issue. The location was great and the breakfast was enjoyable. It was also dog friendly.

Best welcome we have ever experienced.

Best welcome we have ever experienced. Made to feel more than at home. Made some good friends there. The White Horse is a little way from the Steam Railway, but parking at Washford is ok. Great place for walking for the more active of us. Easy to get to Minehead, Watchet, etc. Steam train ride always a plus!!

Washford is an ideal place to stay if your looking at visiting Exmoor, The Quantocks, West Somerset Railway or even if your into country walks. It has easy access to a foot path which links to the Mineral Line, which was an old railway used between Exmoor and Watchet and is now a lovely country walk. In total, its around 11 miles, but from Washford, you can walk to Watchet (around 2 miles) and get the steam train back. Cleeve abbey is just a short walk up abbey road. Some nice pubs are quite local, The White Horse serves good food at really reasonable prices and is just a short drive up abbey road. There are 2 nice chip shops just a 5 minute drive away in Alcombe, together with a COOP, and roughly the same distance is a Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl and McDonalds on the outskirts of Minehead At the time of our visit, the local Washford pub had shut down, and there doesn't appear to be any grocery stores either but there are plently just a short drive away.

It was wonderful until I found I was trapped upstairs at 8 am and no staff had been on site all night. Phoned and cook said can't help I'm cooking breakfast. She did help but she was rude to me. I'm 73 female alone who needs help with bags.

An attractive old characterful village that straddles the main A39 road. It lies on the edge of Exmoor and is close to the sea. Medieval Cleeve Abbey is well worth a visit. This is a beautiful area and Washford is a good base from which to explore it.

We had no idea that Cleve Abbey was so close and would thoroughly recommend a trip there. We ate at the pub each night as the food was so good it seemed silly t o elsewhere. The Somerset Railway is right on your doorstep and easy to park

Really nice welcome. Having contacted the Inn in advance, we were able to leave our bags in our room early - we were going on to a wedding that started at midday. Nice breakfast with plenty of options and good value stay. The room fully met our expectations. It is not a 5* hotel but is a historic pub with steep stairs and uneven floors. Bed was comfy.

Rustic and out of the way, great staff, good food, particularly the big brekkie - although this was on top of the accomodation charge £12 each) which is why I have rated this hotel a 4 (value for money was ok but a bit more than other places we researched). In saying that, we would stay again. A comfy inn and clearly popular with the locals.

This excellent pub/hotel is located in a beautiful hamlet with plenty of off road parking. The staff are friendly with excellent beer and food available. I will definitely be staying here when working in the area again. The beef and ale pie I had was one of the best I have ever tasted
