Traditional hotel exactly as depicted on the site with very friendly staff. Situated in the centre of Warkworth close to local pubs/restaurants. Breakfast choice varied and evening meal was very good and substantial (beef pie). Superb pint of Timothy Taylors Landlord in the bar which was well frequented by guests and locals. Warkworth is charming and has a good circular walk along the river and around the castle. Walkworth beach is a superb long stretch of sand backed by dunes and was not busy even on a sunny day
The Sun Hotel is set opposite Warkworth Castle, on the banks of the River Coquet. This hotel features a traditional pub housed in a 17th-century coaching inn.

Love Warkworth. A beautiful village.
Love Warkworth. A beautiful village. The castle was magnificent. Was disappointed that the hermatige wasn't open though. Beach stunning and bus easy to catch to Alnwick. There are two lovely shops selling reasonably priced unique items. The most dog friendly place I have ever been too.

Warkworth is a lovely place but the main street is quite steep. However, most of the lovely shops are customer friendly. the castle is worth a visit and there is a lovely walk by the river. We loved Grays and The Potting Shed. We ate at other places so cant recommend any in Warkworth but we especially enjoyed the Italian fish restaurant { Carlini? }in Alnwick.
Great, quiet location, close to centre of Warkworth. Never heard so much birdsong. Downstairs entrance/ cloakroom/boot room kept upstairs accomodation clean and clear of our temporary mess. Nicely laid out kitchen/lounge/diner, great crockery and glassware.Comfortable beds and lovely, fluffy towels. Only sorry that we did not leave a comment in the visitors' book, as we had no pen or pencil.
Our room overlooked Warkworth Castle and was set back off the main road making it the perfect spot to explore the town and within easy walk along the river to Amble and it's lovely quayside.
Food was amazing everywhere we visited in town and although we didn't eat in the hotel, the food looked nice and the bar was lovely and friendly staff made us more than welcome
The property is nicely decorated and rooms are comfortable and spacious with a nice walk in shower and comfortable beds. The location is great for exploring the northumberland coastal area , with beautiful walks to the beach as well as riverside walks from the door. The staff was professional and friendly and the breakfast was excellent!
Easy access to main roads for visiting attractions 3 local pubs selling meals nice view of warkworth Castle on a busy road but very quiet on a night beds were comfy and a good size walk in shower Grace the owner left a basket of provisions which was very much appreciated and a lovely touch
Nothing as didn't get the chance. Even though had a confirmation from booking.com the hotel denied we had a booking.
Wherever the problem came from either hotel or booking.com nobody was particularly bothered that we were left with no accommodation at 16.00 on the day.
The hotel was the perfect place to stay for exploring Northumberland. Not fancy but if your only looking for a place to rest your head it’s ideal. The food on offer in the Brew House was excellent and the hotel is just a short walk from everything on offer in Warkworth.
Quiet location , a short walk to Warkworth castle and the riverside.
