The Rag House, hotel in Upton upon Severn

Located in Upton upon Severn and only 34 km from Kingsholm Stadium, The Rag House provides accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking.

The hostess was lovely, friendly, and helpful. The house was situated just a short walk from the lovely town, which was very convenient as it had several pubs with a couple being located on the Riverside that I particularly liked. The house was beautifully decorated. A cosy lounge conplete with fire that must be very cosy in Autumn and Winter. There was a television, but unfortunately, this was not working during our stay. The dining room was a shared table for all occupants that encouraged conversation between guests if they chose to eat at the same time. A large private garden at the back of the house with a huge lawn on a slight slope that had a bench to enjoy wonderful views of the Malvern Hills. One room is en suite, whilst the other two shared the bathroom, but that was fine. There was parking but, if all rooms were occupied cars required careful manouvering into car spaces.

The Abbey, hotel in Upton upon Severn

The Abbey is an AA rated 4-star hotel, situated at the foot of the Malvern Hills in the Worcester countryside and is convenient for many attractions.

Excellent location especially for visiting Three Counties Showground and the main shops in Malvern. Very quiet during the night. Noisy when we arrived with a dog howling continuously in the room below but we went out for a walk and when we returned it had stopped and didn’t hear it again. Loved the hot and cold breakfast options. Every member of staff was amazing. Excellent customer service.

The apartment was beautiful and clean and very well equipped. We loved waking up in the morning with a stunning view of the lake and the wild life all around. The owners were responsive when we had any queries and checked we were having fun during our weekend break. The property was ideally situated for walking into picturesque Upton for shopping and eating out. We had a lovely time.

We sat on riverside terrace at The Swan with an amazing supper, and beautiful views over the River Severn and glorious gold and purple sunset. There is free parking at the rugby club opposite the church and there are many places to choose to eat. Two riverside pubs, a tapas bar with live entertainment on the Friday when we were there and other pubs and Indian restaurants. In daytime there are lots of antique shops to browse.

What a fabulous town to visit.

What a fabulous town to visit. On the banks of the river Severn, several quality traditional pubs and a tapas restaurant all within meters of each other, friendly locals, probably a very nice place to live. Why would you ever leave.

A pretty little town, with a couple of cafes, pubs and restaurants all in close proximity. Some situated along the river, which would be perfect on a Summer day. A variety of cuisine. We had meals at The Boathouse (tapas), Mojito bar (pizza and as name suggests a variety of mojitos!), and Sunday roast at the Lions Head. Can also recommend Henry's cafe and bookshop. Perfect for a short getaway. Also everywhere welcomes dogs.

We very much loved the river and the Tudor Museum was a delight to look round. We had two meals out in the evening, but there're numerous venues to choose from. We chose Tapas at the Boat House and Asian food at Pundits. We ate in the other two nights. I would happily stay in Upton again, as it's near many places of interest.

Everyone in Upton is so friendly and chatty! Lovely selection of antique/ bric abracadabra shops as well as independents. Excellent homemade pizza and cocktails at Fahijtas cafe/bar. Plenty of pubs and seating by the river. Malvern and Tewkesbury very nearby too.
