I was particularly impressed with the cleanliness of everything from the room to the dining area, the crockery and glassware were spotless and the breakfast items were well presented and plentiful in variety. A nice secluded area and peaceful, I would stay again if the opportunity presented itself

Uppingham is a really pretty town with a nice range of shops and restaurants. HIghly recommend staying at The Crown pub and visiting the world-famous Goldmark Art Gallery. The art and ceramics are fantastic and the staff are very welcoming. In fact everyone we met in Uppingham was really friendly!
If you want to go for a walk / bird watching- Rutland Water is nearby.
Oakham is also nice to visit - especially the museum.

We didn’t have a long enough stay to visit Uppingham as we were getting together with family at Rutland Water. We briefly drove through it though and it looked pretty. There’s so much to do in this area, you definitely need a lot more time to explore! We only had a couple of days. I would definitely come here for a long weekend or even a week! So many lovely places to visit.

Uppingham is a lovely place to visit oldy worldy in the town centre, well worth a visit with plenty of hotels pubs and shops, parking can be a bit of a struggle on busy days, but don't let it put you off going. People who live and work there are super friendly.

We ike the staff who are so welcoming and smile and are very helpful. We like the rooms which are clean and warm and have all the usual needs met, plus a bath !! the beds are very comfy. We like the buffet breakfast included in the cost and use of a water machine and a microwave anytime if needed. Like the secure windows on ground floor and quiet at night. Liked the Christmas tree too. Next door is a nice Indian restaurant with a terrace for eating out with a view in the summer, also they are happy for you to take you drinks to your room and ask you to leave them at the Redwings reception and they will collect them. We like the location, with a lovely view, and Redwings has nicely kept gardens. Redwings is easy to find and we visit Stamford which is not far away, We always have a nice stay, have been four times and will continue to return, very good value. We looked up Redwings web site as there are other lodges around the UK to stay at when on our travels.
It was my first time staying here and I will definitely be back (I didn’t want to leave).
Hotel staff were lovely and friendly, nothing was too much trouble.
It is a hidden gem as you wouldn’t think the property was so big. The front is very deceptive of the actual size.
Room was lovely, gorgeous decor and the bed was so comfortable, best nights sleep I’ve had in a long time.
Lovely touches like home made biscuits in the room to have with tea.
Food was amazing quality. Breakfast was cooked to perfection.
Thank you for a perfect stay.
The well equipped room was in a very quiet outbuilding. The food was superb. I had an Indian meal one evening and it was outstanding. Fabulous location in a stunning village and very friendly staff. The Indian gentleman who managed the hotel was really welcoming and very helpful. His decision to include British pub classics and Indian cuisine in the restaurant should prove to be very popular.
Spacious, charming house with a beautiful garden located a short walk from Uppingham town center, and only one minute walk from Uppingham School. The house has been recently renovated and is superbly equipped with many comforts that made us feel immediately at home. The two double beds are super comfortable. I would certainly recommend Cybil's Retreat.
Spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The kitchen and dining area lend to great entertaining. Comfortable bedrooms with fans in each room. Modern bathrooms and powerful showers. Delightful garden to sit out in and eat meals at the garden table. A lovely quiet neighbourhood. Very convenient for Uppingham shops and Oakham, Stamford and Rutland Water.
The room was absolutely spectacular, well stocked with teas and coffees and toiletries, the bathroom was so impressively nice, so much larger than I anticipated! The staff was absolutely the kindest, most helpful and attentive hotel staff I’ve ever encountered. The location was lovely and the restaurant delicious. I have absolutely no complaints :)
Great location in centre of town. Period Hotel with nice lounge. Breakfast was good for a small hotel, Croissants were fresh. Evening meal was okay. Breakfast was included in the price although that wasn't clear. We cycled there and were able to store bikes overnight in function room.
The location was really handy, being right in the heart of Uppingham. The staff were friendly and the room was comfortable enough for the low price.
The food was very very good - a really nice surprise. The full English breakfast was excellent. It made the whole stay for me!
Debbie was a fabulous host, friendly and accommodating. The location of the b&b is in the middle of Uppingham convenient for Uppingham and the surrounding area. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great (with nice products as well). Oh and breakfast was delicious.
Very private, comfortable, clean and well equipped accommodation. Couldn't fault the Topiary Barn. Smaller than we usually stay in but we enjoyed our short stay there. Lunch and evening meal excellent in the Falcon Hotel.
Found the staff friendly and helpful
Found hotel clean and tidy and hygiene excellent and organised
The room was above average every thing working and up to date more than expected
Spacious and well decorated apartment ideally located for exploring Rutland and within easy walking distance of Uppingham centre. Pretty and private outdoor space. Dedicated parking
Great location and value for money. A great restaurant next door for meals and small shop at the garage made if very convenient. The hotel was very quiet at night.
Very good continental breakfast was included into the room rate. Redwings Lodge is close to Rutland waters. Just 10 mins by car and lot of parking places available.
Quaint hotel in a quaint village. Great food options, even for a vegan. Room service was not available from the adjacent bar. Everything was perfect otherwise.
Excellent location, food was very good. The hotel was better than anticipated and we really enjoyed our stay. We have already recommended it to friends.
