It was clean and tidy and very handy just a short walk from Harbour Station.
I was there for a reunion of RN shipmates so was in walking distance of dockyard and other places we visited.

I have stayed here on and off for many years. The Location is very good as always for me when visiting family. The Food is good and Reasonably Priced but each time now I feel it needs very much to be updated.
In fact this time in a small double room it was even more noticeable.
Hard to Charge my phone with regards to where the plugs are or I should say where they are not. The kettle was virtually on the floor as kept so low down and I had to unplug a light to plug it in for usage, after bending down to fetch items up. Plus move the chair to manage okay on the side I used for this. The Toilet is very low down and rather awkward to get down on with a New Hip. Water takes forever to run through hot and I do hate wasting water. The lights are very dim and no light above Bathroom Mirror, well there is one but still not working. The list goes on needless to say unfortunately I will not be staying here again. Even for the Meal in the Evening with my Cousin and her Daughter plus Husband I felt we where in a childrens playground it was so noisy, we could not hold a decent Conversation. As soon as we ate we retired to the Seating in Reception Area. Such a shame as I’ve always loved stayed here. Nearly forgot, the Doors to the Rooms are way too heavy, with a weak back I struggle.
Lovely little village. I imagine many of the buildings must be listed and must take considerable effort to keep looking their best. BIg church in the heart of the village with many graves of interest. Apparently there is a theatre nearby but I didn't get around to visiting this. I found two other pubs in the village, all of which were reasonably busy which was nice to see.

Property is fine with all facilities available and easily accessible.
It is as described and everything is in excellent condition.
Please be mindful of additional fees which are not refundable - a £200 cleaning fee for a 2 night stay is rather exorbitant!

What a beautiful village. So much history.
What a beautiful village. So much history. Take a walk along the the old canal walk to Meon Point.Beautiful countryside. I've seen snakes all over the world, but my first time seeing one in this country. A little less than a metre long grass snake, happily swimming. A real cherry on the cake!
