I already knew where the hotel was located so this influenced my choice. I had only ever been in the bar on previous visits to the town of Biggar. I was very pleased with the quality of room for the price I paid, I also had a fantastic breakfast. I had a lovely evening meal in the dining room and enjoyed a few beers in the public bar. The best thing about the Hotel though was the polite and helpful staff, despite being very busy every staff member I spoke to was smiling and friendly.

Tastefully decorated en-suite in the courtyard garden of a beautiful house. Breakfast cooked to order was absolutely delicious, with plentiful continental breakfast items also available and good coffee. Lesley and John are charming, helpful and run a well organised ship!

We were there to meet up with friends was ideal for a short visit and the area was handy for Biggar a couple of miles up the road which is very interesting Symington it’s self does not have much and the hotel is on a hill just off the main road

Symington is not somewhere you would rate.
Symington is not somewhere you would rate. Staying in the hotel and visiting Symington would not normally occur in the same sentence i.e. while you might want to stay in the hotel you would never think of visiting Symington - there is nothing to see.

We could only stay for one night, so didn't have the chance to experience much really. Climbed Tinto Hill - a lovely walk with great views and a super little tea shop near the car park.
Had a fantastic evening meal at Barony Restaurant in nearby Biggar - would recommend this very strongly!
My stay at Tinto hotel was an absolute delight.
All the stuff are very friendly and helpful. The room are very clean and comfortable. While I enjoyed their serene afternoon tea and the breathtaking views from their backyard, it was the dinner that stood out. Their unique dish, fish and the unexpected delight of mango rice, was nothing short of a culinary masterpiece. It alone warrants a 5-star rating. If you're in Edinburg , this hotel is a must-visit!
Every experience with the staff was fantastic, the room was beautiful and spacious and the bathroom facilities were very modern and very high quality. The Rituals shower gel and conditioner provided in the room was exceptional and has become a new favourite. We dined in the hotel each day for breakfast and once for our evening meal and the service and food provided, including the vegan options, were all really delicious.
The location was good and the hotel had been updated since our last visit. Sadly the breakfast was not good. The hot dish had been made well in advance of our ordering and had obviously been left in a heater, I felt that the hotel wasn't so busy that the breakfast could not have been freshly made to order.
The Tinto Hotel was great value for money in a beautiful location, the grounds are amazing, the staff were great and very welcoming, I would definitely stay here again.
Great breakfast too, again value for money.
A quirky and charming hotel with old fashioned style and a wonderful staircase and sun lounge. Work is still being done to refurbish part of the rear of the building so view from room was uninspiring.
The hotel is a long historical one, rich of culture and style but was also recently renovated. This means a great combination of vibe, culture and comfort!
Food is really great.
Location is great, very close to Tinto hill. Room is very clean, breakfast amazing. Staffs are very nice, and helpful. Will come back in summer again. 10/10 hotel
Breakfast was brilliant. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful! Immaculate hotel. I’ll definitely stay at Tinto again. And recommend it to my friends and family.
