This hotel wins hands down because of its location and views. We had a ground floor room with patio doors onto the garden with stunning sea views.
The room has been updated and was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The linen and facilities within the room were fairly new and very clean. The room was comfortable, bright and airy.
The dining area is modern and again benefits from stunning sea views. The staff who served breakfast were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very good with a selection of hot and cold food. The quality was very high.
Dating from 1898, this wonderful hotel commands a majestic location, nestled in the heart of the Isle of Purbeck, providing a spectacular view across Swanage Bay and Pevril Point

Out of season Swanage is still charming.
Out of season Swanage is still charming. Small enough to walk round, but large enough to have a variety of shops and eateries. The Salt Pig was good for eating in. You can walk the coast path amongst other walks.

we only had two full days in Swanage in the middle of November, so our experience was not typical, We did look to drive into the town and park on the road by the side of the seafront, however the parking charge of £4.30 for the first hour put us off, who wants to benefit from 3 hours at £7.00 in November. As we didn't use the town car parks we cannot comment on the charges in them.
My husband has bad knees so we didn't park and walk around the town but there did seem to be some interesting little, individual shops as we drove through, We found Corfe Castle a delight to visit, especially the NT tea shop! We hope to go back.

I've stayed in Swanage several times and this reflects my like of Swanage and the surrounding area.
The Town / beach / numerous eating options / the compact layout of the Town makes it easy to navigate. Also great walks in and around Swanage for short strolls or longer treks.
Can't say I would have anywhere that I would avoid on subsequent visits.

Additional extra charges for dogs were not included in my initial expectations. I specifically looked for pet-friendly accommodations, assuming that the listed price would cover any potential pet fees. However, I was disappointed to discover that there was an additional £30 charge for my two teacup dogs.
The prices for meals were exceedingly high, considering that the quality and taste were not particularly impressive.

Swanage is a compact seaside town but with the added advantage of an excellent bus service and the Swanage steam railway. The beach is clean and sandy. There are boat trips from the pier during the summer. A good selection of shops not just seaside souvenirs . Plenty of choices for evening meals and snacks.

Swanage is one of my most favourite seaside towns!
Swanage is one of my most favourite seaside towns! It is an absolutely beautiful town with a gorgeous bay, with very safe bathing and also dramatic cliff tops too. The town has many lovely shops and lots of fantastic eating places around the harbour and further in the town too. It is facinating to also learn about the history of Swanage and the connections to London and royalty! It is the most wonderful family seaside location xxx
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Railway Cottage . It was clean and well equipped for the few days we were there . A perfect location just a short stroll into Swanage town and seafront . We stayed in a small double room and I thought the space had been utilised really well. Bed was comfy too . My son and Grandaughters stayed in the family room next to ours and it was very well equipped and set out . We visit Swanage every year and would definitely choose to stop here again . The front garden was so pretty too .. love the lavender !
This apartment is in a superb location, on the ground floor, and just a few minutes walk to the beach, parks, amusements, town centre and of course, the great Swanage Railway station. It includes 2 free parking spaces - which are essential for this town in summer. The kitchen area is brand new and everything works smoothly. Jo was very helpful and quick to respond to guide us on a few initial queries to get us settled in. Would certainly consider returning.
Spacious, very clean, and well equipped.
The kitchen had a great gas cooker and oven. The microwave was good and was the kettle.
Beds are very comfy and bedding. They are good clean quality.

The breakfast was good.
The views of Swanage from the bar and restaurant were excellent.
The garden was a lovely spot to relax.
The beach access was also very convenient.
It was also nice to see the hotel from everywhere along the Swanage sea front, which made me warm to it. Easy to buy into the romance of the grand old building.
Stunningly beautiful old buildings. Lovely gardens.
Perfect location. Close to the beach and town. Lots to do and see in the area.
Friendly staff. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, beautiful breakfast and good value for money.

Kept to a very high modern standard, close proximity to Swanage and on a bus route should you not want to take the 20 mins walk into town. Very Good local shop within 100 yards. Very clean , spaciose and comfortable with excellent facilities. Loads to see and do around the area . An excellent family holiday location.
The hotel was nicely situated by the beach with a wooden staircase down to the sand and close to town. Not so close to be noisy. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful - especially the breakfast restaurant staff. Someone struck gold when employing staff as they are the best thing about the hotel.
The apartment is centrally located in the heart of Swanage, ideal base for exploring Dorset's Jurassic coast. The apartment is spacious and one of six in the block. It has a well equipped kitchen and spacious rooms. The apartment is well presented with modern fixtures and fittings.
Great location! Best thing was being able to walk straight onto footpaths with our dog. Nice countryside all around. Very easy to keep the cottage clean, ideal for four people. Comfy beds. Dog friendly. Lots to do in the area without having to drive far.
Alan & Charlene are exceptional & accommodating hosts. The room & shower room were modern & really well presented. The breakfasts are amazing, made with the best ingredients. The hotel proximity to Swanage seafront & town is perfect.

Beautiful place, welcoming and helpful hosts, the most delicious breakfast ever, cosy sparkling rooms - ours was on the small side- but all you need is there!
