The Mill House Hotel, hotel in Portgordon

Set in Buckie, 19 km from Elgin Cathedral, The Mill House Hotel offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a restaurant.

Staff were the most friendly and welcoming of any establishment I’ve stayed in. Both evening meal, and breakfast enjoyable, well cooked and plentiful. I’d say any negatives are mitigated by the excellent staff.

Struan House, hotel in Portgordon

Offering a garden and sea view, Struan House is set in Buckie, 27 km from Elgin Cathedral and 41 km from Huntly Castle.

It is unusual when the location, the host, the home and the price I’ll meet. There is nothing that could’ve been improved with this day. The hosts were amazing, informational and caring. The home décor was impeccable, and the cleanliness was outstanding! We will definitely recommend this location to others and hope to return.

    A lovely quiet village.

A lovely quiet village. That is located well for sightseeing in the area. There isn't any where to shop or eat in the village, but there's plenty of places nearby where you can go to get food. It's very pesceful, which lends itself to a good nights sleep.

Portgordon has the (delightful) air of being quite out of the way, but even by public transport it would have been quite accessible, as would other fascinating places around. It is very quiet. It is a shame for the village that the only shop recently closed. There is one pub - the Lennox. Reviewed elsewhere it gives the impression of an unprepossessing exterior hiding a warm heart; and I would agree with that.
