As for others, I stayed instead at The Three Tuns over the road (there was a sign on the door that the hotel is closed for refurb, and to go over the road!), but all was seamless, the Three Tuns very nice, a lovely room, friendly welcoming helpful staff, and I was upgraded for free to a very nice double with breakfast too! Perfect for the Cleveland Way and Osmotherley is beautiful.

this was a superb place to stay. we liked the very friendly and welcoming staff, the excellent breakfast, the decor and comfy beds, the heavy black out drape curtains. everything.

Local shop and pubs, one of which (The Golden Lion) did superb food and we ate there all 3 nights. Only limited public transport and it was some considerable way from a lot of the N Yorks Moors (eg the Steam railway) and towns like Whitby and Scarborough.
