The Newbridge Hotel, hotel in Newbridge

Situated 30 km from Cardiff University, The Newbridge Hotel offers 3-star accommodation in Newbridge and has a garden, a shared lounge and a bar.

It was within a reasonable walking distance to The Patriot Rock Club in Crumlin (about 22 minutes). And I was able to hold the booking months before the music event. The price of the room was good.

Firstly, the staff were probably the most pleasant and wlelcoming I have seen in a hotel for a long time. Every member always acknowledged you be it reception, bar or house keeping they really great. breakfast was good, and again the staff in the restaurant were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.

    Very friendly and helpful staff.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Very convenient location, as I stay here when I go to gigs in The Patriot rock bar. Also, the train station is literally just 5 minutes down the road. There is a lovely beer garden, but I didn't use it on this occasion as it had been raining. But it's great when it's a sunny day 😎🍺🌞

Newbridge was a little shabby , two betting shops in the centre sets the tone. 2 for 1 pub the Otter for meals but not good for single travellers. Good chip shop where they cooked fish fresh - great haddock. Good road and train links. Stayed in the Newbridge pub with rooms cheap and cheerful.

    Very basic.

Very basic. If you just need somewhere to get your head down or the night its worthwhile. The mattress was awful and could feel every spring. The walls were paper thin and could here people all night, so not much sleep was had. The cleanliness of the room and bathroom was a bit grim, can tell there hasn't been any care or attention to the rooms or the pub in general for years. The staff weren't very engaging, clearly the hotel part of the pub isn't a priority and we were just handed a key and left to our own devices. Only positive was the room was massive and the place is dog friendly which is great. Parking is available but not immediately clear when booking, there is a free park park around the corner and lots of stress parking too but no dedicated parking for the pub/hotel.

A small town on the outskirts of Newport & Blackwood area ideal for those who like walking around the area. The town has an excellent hall called the Muni which has been recently refurbished during the pandemic also has seating upstairs for people to enjoy and band or any stage production.

The Newbridge Inn has great selection of drinks plus live music on weekends. My favourite place is the The Patriot Bar in Cumlin a mere 10 minute walk away (or £5 in a cab). It's a newly refurbished Biker Bar with live bands on weekends. mostly free but some weekends are showcase events and there is a entry fee. The Pizza takeaway on the main Newport Road 2 minute walk from the Newbridge inn as you walk towards the train station is awesome and proper good value (12" pepperoni pizza plus a portion of cheesy chips was only £8.20).
