Great location, friendly staff, and comfortable, well equipped rooms. Nice garden to have a drink out the back, and the breakfast was good in the morning. We were on motorbikes and could park on the street right out the front.

Central for touring the excellent border's area. Town has good choice of accommodation and food outlets. Town centre parking is good and free. In general the town is a little tired and needs a bit of a spruce up!

All in all it was the most pleasant and perfect stay and experience to us.We felt there was no bad bits about the place, but is was tastefully decorated and restored environment, going respectfully with the historical era of the building. Delicious food, well thought out everything about customers stay. Many thanks and warm recommendations.

Moffat is a lovely little town with many quirky shops and quite a few short local walks for the adventurers also there are longer walks for the more adventurist especially a 10 mile drive to the The Grey Mares Tail is well worth a visit but the road to it is very narrow in places
The proprietor was knowledgeable and went the extra mile to be helpful and entertaining. The room was very spacious and kept very traditional in the old house. The dining room was equally appropriate to its age and both the dinner and breakfast were very good indeed. The small hotel is located in a quiet street very close to the town centre of Moffatt.
This was a perfect one night stop-over on a long journey, just a few minutes from the M74 motorway.
My advice to anyone travelling around the Moffat area is to look no further. Probably the best B&B I've stayed at. Everything was first class, from the coffee and cake on arrival, to the terrific variety and quality of the breakfast. Bradley and Ron were the perfect hosts, unobtrusive but available, and their attention to detail would put many supposedly superior hotels to shame. How they do it at the price is beyond me.
We enjoyed our stay at Moffat. Owners were amazing hosts and provide us best service. It's a beautiful hostel with very neat and tidy kitchen, good dining area, fantastic rooms with bunk beds and hotel quality bathrooms. Space for car park. We are not aware of local attractions but Tom gave us information about the places and we were able to capture stunning beauty of mountains and waterfalls.
Buchan Guest House was just as we remembered it from the late 1980's when we last stayed there - nostalgic!
It's in a super location with parking out the front and at the rear.
Moffat is a great location for exploring the lowlands of Scotland and stopping off on the way North or South on the A74(M).
We were made very welcome and had a very good room.
We would come back again.
Booked a single room and I was given a suite! It was lovely...... Equipped with everything you need and more! I visit Moffat a couple of times a year and it's my 1st time in the Balmoral, certainly won't be my last!! Breakfast was included but I had made plans and the lady done me a lovely breakfast pack 😀 Can't wait to return! 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a lovely hotel right on the high street of Moffat. We stayed here for one night on our way up to Inverness. The family room was spacious and had lovely big windows, and despite overlooking the high street it was very quiet at night. Breakfast and dinner were both excellent and fantastic value. Parking opposite was free.
We were met by the owner as soon as we arrived and she was friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable with good facilities and the breakfast offered was extensive. The location was quaint and quiet and within easy reach of the town centre. There was easy parking and access to the room. Moffat is lovely.
Right on the main road of the charming town of Moffat. Really well run hotel with pub, lounge and amazing map / tv room! Very good food and one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in years. The owner went out of his way to provide maps for excursions and onward journey. Very highly recommended.
Stayed at this hotel lots over the years for family celebration. The change in the hotel is fantastic and the new design &. Luxurious finish is amazing. We stayed in room 5 and had the best sleep ever .room is amazing . Breakfast was excellent. All round I’d give it 5 stars .
Good value rooms right in the centre of Moffatt, and the restaurant is good value too. Lovely staff. Only slight downside was we thought we were getting private parking for our five motorbikes, but ended up parked on the main street outside the hotel. Not a problem though.
This room had a fabulous view of downtown Moffat and a wonderful stone wall. Over breakfast our host filled us in on the long history of the house and his experience renovating it. The room is right downtown, close to everything and the stay was delightful.
Outstanding decor, the floor to ceiling antler Sculptural Light Fixture in hallway was spectacular, felt and looked like an extremely high end London Hotel in Moffat. Excellent breakfast and dog friendly. what more could you ask for. A credit to owners.
We stayed in the superior room, it was huge! The bathroom was amazing with a roll top bath and walk in shower, it felt like a 4/5 star hotel (with bunkbeds) We would definitely recommend this place for families and definitely stay again.
Breakfast was very good. House was really nice - old with original features. Bed was comfortable. Location very convenient for an overnight stop off the M74 and Moffat is an interesting old town in a beautiful area.
The best stop on our tour of Scotland. Great owners/staff, good food, excellent value for money. Beautiful grounds and outside dining/drinking area. Friendly pub. Would definitely stay there again.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is a good stop-off when driving from South of England up to the North of Scotland. The free car park is conveniently round the back of the hotel.
Moffat is well located for easy access to all the natural beauty of the fabulous Scottish Borders.
All the staff were very helpful. Motorcycle garages and maintenance facilities are a great touch.
Very clean and spacious room. Perfect for a family group. Fabulous evening meal in the hotel restaurant. Hosts were very helpful and welcoming. couldn’t be better!
Beautiful building and surrounding area. Comfortable room with lovely views. Breakfast was high quality. Great location just minutes walk into Moffat high street.
