Middleton is quite pleasant to look at and within easy reach of lots of truly beautiful scenery and wonderful places to visit.
However, there is not much there, not even a shop. The nearest shop we found was the co op by the garage in Wirksworth. It's fine, it just means you need to be organised with any food shopping you need to do or, in my father's case, when you are going to be able to buy your daily paper!

Rising sun is a nice pub for food and atmosphere, service was excellent. Nearby in wirksworth the farmers market was excellent, runs first Saturday of the month. Bakery selling pies were really delicious and would buy again.
The owner for the property was very responsive for any questions from myself which is what you need.
