We booked last minute for a nearby wedding. We would be coming in late and were told how to get in and that we could help ourselves to milk from the fridges downstairs etc. It was a nice welcome :)

We had a large tastefully decorated bedroom It was immediately apparent that the room had undergone a recent renovation, reflecting a high standard.
The mini fridge was a convenient addition for keeping our beverages chilled.
Nice to have a bath rather than a shower with lots of warm water.
Large comfortable bed. Our room overlooked the beer garden. The treble-glazed window ensured that our peace was undisturbed by outside noise.
Plenty of free onsite parking space.
As pet owners, we were particularly appreciative of the hotel’s pet-friendly policy, with only a nominal £20 additional charge for our dog. All the staff who were very friendly and made a fuss of our dog.
The evening meal was good, and breakfast freshly cooked to order.
The proximity of a Co-op store just a few minutes’ walk away was incredibly convenient for picking up snacks and essentials.
We would stay here again.

The bed was comfy and the room was a good temperature.
Lovely little town. There are 2 pubs - we ate at the Boars head which had some lovely specials and fabulous desserts with lovely staff. There isn't a supermarket nearby but the village post office shop sells all of the essentials. Next to the post office their is a small alley filled with bookshelves where you can choose some books/DVDs/games to take away for a donation to charity made inside the shop - a lovely quirk and we did pick up a couple of books and a DVD to read/watch at the cottage.
If you enjoy walking there are a fair few lovely walks which can be done directly from the village. We also drove out to Malham Tarn which offers a beautiful scenic walk, and to Feizor where we did a short circular walk up to dead man's cave and back down for lunch in the infamous tearooms there.
The only downside to Long Preston is that the main road is ridiculously busy, and very difficult to cross! It can be avoided though as there are plenty of "snickets" (pedestrian lanes) running parallel which you can use to make your way through town.
