The lodge is located in Lochranza a small and peaceful population in the north of the island, we didn't see any shops and there were only a couple of bars in the village but this wasn't a problem for us .
Cath and her husband were very welcoming and helpful. The bedroom was on the small side but it had everything we needed. The bathroom was renovated, fresh and clean.
We also got to see the deer grazing at dusk on the golf course right in front of our window. Dinner and breakfast were excellent!
Set on the banks of Loch Ranza, opposite a 16th-century ruined castle, Lochranza Youth Hostel is located on the Cock of Arran trail, which provides a scenic low level trek.

Going back to this hostel after years was a pleasure. Absolutely breathtaking location. We spotted seals, baby lambs and sheep, seals, wild rabbits, deers… Nicely equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, nice and cosy common rooms. Quiet and peaceful area of Arran (probably the best). Pleasant and helpful girl at the reception.
Featuring mountain views, The Best Moments Start Here provides accommodation with free bikes, a garden and a terrace, around 9.2 km from Brodick Castle, Garden and Country Park.

A great hotel that we would recommend and revisit when in Arran. Very friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed a good dinner in the bar and the breakfasts (especially the salmon and scrambled eggs). A comfortable bed and a good-sized room. We loved the wee black duck in the bathroom and bought three!!
With a luxury spa and elegant rooms, Auchrannie Resort features 3 award-winning restaurants. Situated in Brodick, on the beautiful Isle of Arran, the hotel also has a beauty salon and gym.

Absolutely EVERYTHING 💓
What an absolute 'gem' of a place, to the point that we've booked to go next May for 5 nights!
The location, facilities & the staff were exceptional....Ashley especially.
The lady at reception (sadly didn't get her name) was so helpful.

Really lovely stay, Emily couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Perfect location, tucked away a little off the main road but very close still to the beach and pubs/shops etc. The garden view is gorgeous. Thanks for having us!

Lochranza is beautiful and pristine - much like all of Arran however you experience more of a wilderness vibe than you do at the larger settlements such as Brodick or Whiting Bay.
There is plenty to see and do in Lochranza, with wildlife galore! We managed to spot some otters!
The scenery is just breathtaking.

Beautiful North Arran!
Beautiful North Arran! do yourself a favour and walk here from another part of the island; opt for either coastal or hill walks to get there. You'll be rewarded with beautiful scenery all the way, including waterfalls. Be patient, and you'll also be rewarded with amazing wildlife; seals, deer & stag, a range of birds, and if you're very patient......sea otters!

This is a small community around three sides of the Loch shore. It can be busy so booking accommodation and meals in advance is recommended. Any visit to Arran should include look around Lochranza to experience the magnificent scenery and wildlife.
PS. We ate at the local hotel, the campsite has a good restaurant but was fully booked. Golf, walking, cycling and a distillery visit are amongst the many activities possible.
Excellent place to stay in Lochranza, in a beautiful setting. Cath and Mac were very welcoming on arrival. Our room was lovely and spacious, very comfy bed, good shower, hospitality tray, we were even given fresh milk.
Breakfast was the best we had during our trip around the Scottish Isles. Great choice, with good size portions.
Ample parking on site.
Only stayed one night but would recommend and stay again. Thank you.
Location was excellent in terms of north Lochranza Ferry although far from Brodick Ferry. The connectivity with public transport can be a challenge if the Bus service is missed or running late or any guest makes the mistake of not planning the travel timings as it is remotely far up north from East or West Coast. Spectacular sights of the Glens & Valleys and Lochs and of course amazingly close to the Castle
Exceptionally clean, Cath and Mac extremely friendly, they have thought of everything. We only had breakfasts at the hotel and both days everything was perfect. They are very covid conscious with plenty of hand sanitiser, even in the room and follow all the social distancing measures to a T. The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings and the deer and stags are very tame
owner was lovely lady and came to meet us after arrival to explain that you have to order food in advance if you want an evening meal, which at the time was disappointing no bar area or drinks area.nice breakfast room and breakfast and service was very good plenty choice of tea and coffee in room, lovely view
Lovely location overlooking golf course and view of Lochranza Bay in distance. Perfect for sitting outside and having a drink in the evening. Breakfast was delicious and served early for us because we had an early ferry. Very accommodating. Staff very friendly. Would return and would book dinner next time.
The location is beautiful, the rooms very tastefully decorated and extremely clean.
Dinner menu had been sent to us prior to arrival and was excellent, locally sourced produce and plentiful
The owners were friendly and provided good local information
The hostel is situated in spectacular scenery.
Short walking distance to Sandwich Station (highly recommended) and Lochranza Country Inn (highly recommended).
Beautiful scenery & near to Lochranza Castle.
Situation is great & good bus services.
It was set in the most beautiful location standing alone from the main village in Lochranza. Despite being set apart it was a short walk to get around . The decor was very tasteful and luxurious, perfect to relax after a long cycle ..!!!!
I was in a private room which was ensuite which I wasn't expecting. Lochranza was a quiet, peaceful spot nestled between some beautiful hills with views towards the western side of the Mull of Kintyre.
Garden at front with tables, plenty parking and close to Lochranza Ferry port. Excellent Sandwich Shop close by for a bacon roll and coffee in the morning.
