I emailed the hotel at the time of booking to confirm I would be arriving late. I did not receive an acknowledgement. We tried calling them all evening while on route but they did not answer their phones. Arrived late and no one around to check me in. Denied receiving email, or getting calls despite screenshots of the call log, no apologies, sympathy and refused to refund for a stay which didn't happen as they can't use their own communication channels.

Very clean with a rustic charm, excellent breakfasts and equally excellent pub food in the evenings. It’s aimed at the budget market so our room was compact but the electric shower was adequate and my picky wife declared the bathroom to be very hygienic. (It was a bit dated so we called it ‘retro’.) Our twin beds were comfy with a selection of pillows, and all of this plus two very friendly, helpful hosts made for a relaxed stay.

We had a dual aspect room with plenty of light and gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside. The bed was enormous and very comfortable. So much so that we overslept. When had we asked what time breakfast was, we were asked, 'when do you want it?' The overall feeling was that the owners were trying to provide good, old fashioned service.
