I stayed in the Louisa Lodge, lovely spacious room felt really comfortable and relaxed. I wasn't sure what to expect staying in the lodge instead of the main hotel but it really didn't make any difference about a minutes walk through the garden to get to main hotel, for the bar and Breakfast. Breakfast was excellent and good value for money. All the staff were friendly, approachable and helpful. The location of the hotel is excellent quick easy access to the main town centre and of course the beach!
Situated in Wareham and with Corfe Castle reachable within 6.9 km, The Bear Hotel features express check-in and check-out, non-smoking rooms, a terrace, free WiFi and a bar.

The fact that they noticed when I disappeared for an hour
Lovely room, bed very comfortable. Staff friendly, great location, with a bus stop right outside, near several great attractions.
Sofa in the room was not comfortable, nor were the chairs in the restaurant.
Food was quite good, but expensive for what it was.

Lovely views and wildlife.
Lovely views and wildlife. Centrally positioned on Purbeck, with easy access to Corfe Castle, Swanage, Kimmeridge, Arne RSPB and Hartland Moor. Countryside was so beautiful and peaceful, bluebells, lambs, swallows, picturesque buildings. There was so much to do:- relax, paint, bird watch, look for fossils, museums, heritage buildings.

Its a beautiful little village quite central to some fabulous walks. While there I walked along a ridgeway down to Kimmeridge bay, and also walked sections of the coast path (the access to it is about a half hour walk straight down from Kingston). It would be very easy to walk to Corfe as well, although both Corfe and Kingston are on the bus route between Wareham and Swanage.
There did not appear to be anywhere to buy groceries in the village, but the local pub was great and the beer garden had fabulous views over to Corfe castle.

Beautiful cosy accommodation after a days walking the coast.
Beautiful cosy accommodation after a days walking the coast.
The warmth of the room was so welcome after hours of -1c and below with windchill.
Underfloor heating on tired feet including the bathroom/wet room a delight.
The bed was huge and so comfy.
Had dinner in the sawmill restaurant which was excellent, washed down with a red wine or 3?
Staff very helpful, accommodating and smiling.
I am going back with the kids to get one of the larger properties and discover the more of the coast.
A real gem discovered on the Jurassic coast by this old fossil!

The staff were brilliant. Well informed, helpful, friendly.
The staff were brilliant. Well informed, helpful, friendly. Room was immaculate, comfortable, well equipped. Surrounding countryside is beautiful with great views from all sides of the hotel. From the pictures we'd seen expected it to be much more regimented, but everyone was so relaxed and friendly it was like a home away from home. Particular compliments to Tony, Danielle, Claudine and Amy. If I haven't mentioned your name I'm sorry but I have a dreadful memory for that sort of stuff. Food is fantastic with good sized portions and lots of locally sourced food. Can't go on a diet here. Definitely returning!
I was expecting a single room with a bathroom, but had a bedroom, bathroom and a separate and spacious lounge, which was lovely for me. The hotel was located in a picturesque village with lovely views across fields to Corfe Castle. The nearby church is an excellent Victorian structure and well worth a visit. The breakfast was first rate, with a good choice of items. I have nothing to fault.
We are so surprised to have a superb large suite, with a separate bedroom and sitting room. It was spotlessly clean, and the staff were so helpful. The food was also very good, and not overly expensive. I would give this hotel five stars because the staff, particularly Melissa went the extra mile. The location is also lovely - breath taking walks the minute you step out the door.
A small, friendly hotel based around a historical farmyard. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the location outside a village meant peace and quiet with wonderful views. The owners and staff were very personable and helpful. For those who don't want to eat on the premises every night, there is a great pub a short walk away.
Loved our short stay in the Dairy cottage - rooms were immaculately clean and equipped with everything we could need - definitely wish we could have stayed a few more nights to relax and enjoy the gorgeous scenery all around the hotel and local area. We had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant and both were exceptional.
Great location, close to swanage and pool. The hotel is 100 m from a bus stop if you're taking the bus service. The restaurant in the hotel is decent and the food was good, closes early though, don't forget to reserve dinner ahead of time. We got a duplex apartment which was quite spacious.
We have stayed at the Scott Arms before and it was as good this time as before. It's a somewhat quirky inn, which adds to its charm. The view from the back of the inn is fantastic. The bath, after a day's walk on a demanding stretch of the South West Coast Path, was very welcome.
There was a selection of cereals and drinks and 2 choices of main course for breakfast. There was a good selection of pub food for the evening meal. The views from the hotel were fantastic with lovely walks within a short distance. The pub had some lovely internal features.
Fab little hotel, near to where I needed to be, excellent if visiting Corfe, Harmans Way railway, Studland etc..Room was adequate for just me, comfy bed, room was small but had everything that I needed. Brilliant breakfast and lovely friendly staff
Great view from the lower bar / dining area. Friendly staff. Depending on your point of view the property could be described as old and full of character or old and a bit scruffy. We have the 'full of character' viewpoint
Location is great for Swanage or Corfe - great views of Corfe just down the road from the hotel. Bed was comfortable and the room generally had a nice feel. Good choice of breakfast options and the team were great.
Great little hotel with a boutique feel. Great rooms, great service in a lovely setting/village. Food was a mixture of modern and old skool classics and was all beautifully put together
Nice high ceilings, huge bed, lovely views to Corfe Castle, really fab staff, dog-friendly walks around the hotel within the grounds with wildlife area, good food.
