The heating didn't work. The boiler didn't have the necessary pressure to start up. The owner just told me to start the heater. Despite trying to start it for 1 hour, it still didn't work.

Our room was opposite a fire door and a staff member staying the night kept opening the fire door and leaving it open. 7 times we got out of bed to close it as we did not feel safe with a door open to anyone, 3 metres from our bedroom. The individual had several friends over and they came and left through the door for hours. Despite our request to keep the noise down and the door closed he ignored this. In the end my husband had to stand outside ar 1am to confront them.

Kilsyth is a town full of history from the mines to the weaving. It should really have a museum in the main street. Colzium is a beautiful park with flowers and walks. The receptionist went out of her way to explain all aspects of my stay and also showed me to my room. The room was exactly as described with a lovely view of the canal outside. It was a busy hotel but really quiet, which made for a perfect night's sleep. I ate in the restaurant twice and the food was top quality.
