Check in smooth, rooms lovely, although we were not in the main hotel building as expected. Food excellent and wait/hotel staff very attentive and personable. Really nice grounds and lovely old building.

WE WERE JUST HAPPY TO BE HOME AGAIN , BUT IT HAS GONE DOWN HILL A BIT , BUT HAD A GREAT TIME CATCHING UP WITH FRIENDS AND TALKING OLD TIMES . WE HAD OUR WEDDING RECEPTION THERE 42 YEARS AGO PROBABLY NOT OF MUCH INTEREST TO OTHER TRAVELLERS WHY WE WERE THERE . BUT LOVED IT , WOULD LOVE TO STAY AGAIN FOR LONGER . FOOD , STAFF , ROOMS WERE ALL EXCELLENT

Hotel was lovely, staff excellent but our toilet was blocked and flooded the bathroom. The first night we couldn’t move rooms as the hotel was full . It was fixed the next day when we were at a wedding which was the reason we were there but within an hour blocked again and flooded the bathroom which was unpleasant.

However no lift and when you have a twin room allocated top floor and have 30kg of cases x2 poor show! Only other room was ground floor double bed not good when we r 2 lady travellers. Was disappointing. Also no pool/spa on site but 3 miles away at sister hotel. But on plus side staff were very nice and hotel itself was clean and tidy.
