This is a brilliant little place in the centre of Hereford, only 5 minutes walking from the cathedral. It's got a lovely conservatory overlooking the river where they serve lunch and breakfast (they don't do dinner, but there are lots of nice restaurants around). Breakfast was wonderful, the menu was nice and the food superb.
My room (I had a junior suite) had a beautiful view onto the river and garden and was just lovely with nice details like a basket with regional treats or sherry. The bathroom was spacious, the toiletry luxurious.
What else? Yes, they have private parking (which is free for guests) and very convenient, situated just behind the hotel.
If you can afford it... go to this place! It's worth the money!
Pilgrim Country House Hotel and Restaurant is set in 4 acres of rolling parkland with stunning views and an excellent restaurant serving local Herefordshire produce.

Good location. For the price we paid we thought it was ok.
Breakfast 'in a bag' was really good but at the point of booking we had expected a proper breakfast.
Undergoing refurbishment and promises to be a very nice property when it's done.

Hereford is a stunning county to visit.
Hereford is a stunning county to visit. Amazing cathedral and city to visit, pedestrians only in city. Lots of cafes and places to eat. River Wye is stunning and Symmonds Yat worth a visit. Maybe you will see a Peregrin Falcon there. Lots to do. The local theatre The Courtyard always has something on. There is a fabulous Cinema as well.

So much history and wonderful, old buildings in quite a small, easily walkable area. The Black and White House and the Catholic church, were particularly interesting. The Mappa Mundi and Cathedral are obviously worth a visit.
The lack of cars in some streets was great. Far more relaxing without them.
Good choice of eateries (e.g. Ponte Vecchio, The Bookshop, All Saints cafe).
The outdoor market stalls were a delight but the indoor market needs a upgrade. Lots of potential.
There is also a nearby walk in the countryside along the river bank, via Victoria Bridge then back along the other side to the west.

Hereford is a pretty town, we went for the Cathedral and Map a Mundi. I think it would suit people who like to go for a bit of a shop and the town centre looked nice when we were walking through, little lanes, little cafes, little independent shops as well as some of the majors.
I enjoyed the Cathedral and the Black & White House Museum, the latter would also be good for children.
Close to lovely countryside and striking distance from Hay On Wye and other pretty towns to visit so a good hub place to be based.

I work in Hereford and was staying overnight because of an evening engagement with a late finish and I didn't want to drive home very late. I think Hereford is a great place to visit, especially now the electric Zipper buses have been introduced.

Wonderful city , full of history and character.
Wonderful city , full of history and character. Much more like a large market town , with many interesting and unique shops , not like most cities. Also just minutes away from the country side . The Court Yard theatre is a definite must , great food to the in-house restaurant. Helpful and friendly staff and the show was very good value for money .
Really fantastic guest house within easy walking distance of the town centre in Hereford. Myself and a friend booked two nights for a wedding and were very pleased with the facilities including breakfast which was freshly made downstairs in a small dining/breakfast room. Despite being next to the road, it wasn't too loud and we had a very spacious room for two. Another great feature was that despite sharing a bathroom on the floor, there were plenty of supplies, and fresh shower mats provided for guests in the shared facilities.
The building is half a mile from the centre of Hereford making it an excellent choice if you plan to walk back, the beds were very comfortable albeit a little small (width and length) for a six foot tall person. The area appears safe and the b&b is located near a Sainsburys should you need it. The Alexander was also the cheapest and most available with less than a days notice in the entirety of the town. The rooms are quite clean (see cons) and the bathrooms are well equipped with showers also very clean.
We had a very good stay at Charades. It is a beautiful home that is very well maintained and spotlessly clean. The proximity to the city makes it a wonderful location from which to explore Hereford. Breakfast was very good. The owners were extremely professional, paying great attention to detail and they were very friendly. If we are ever in the area again we will be back!
Thank you very much.
Less than a 15 minute walk to town centre, and less than 10 minute walk to The Barrels, best pub in Hereford. On site parking which I was allowed to use the day I checked out (free parking difficult in Central Hereford though plenty of paid). Room was basic, but clean and reasonably comfortable. Excellent value for a stop over stay, as mine was. Great WiFi.
Hosts were very helpful. The oven broke down and it was fixed the same day and while it was broken they took our casserole into their house to cook. Location was good for Hereford and for the hills we wanted to climb. The village had a craft fair on Sunday, not sure if this was a regular occurrence but we got some Xmas presents and cards.
The room was large, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and very filling. We were able to walk to Hereford City centre both days - it took just over 30 minutes each way. If we had stayed longer, we would have caught a bus to Ross on Wye or Monmouth as they go past the hotel every hour.
Nothing about this hotel, was passing through Hereford on a long journey up North and needed to stay a night. Unfortunately the Premier Inn was fully booked. When I arrived the Hotel looked shut,no lights on,no staff,no customers and no option of any food whatsoever, not even a snack. Appalling beyond
Extremely clean, well-appointed, plenty of kitchenware, very comfortable bed, underfloor heating in bathroom was superb because it was a very cold weekend! It’s a beautiful and peaceful location. Martin gave us great tips about the area and we had a lovely weekend exploring Herefordshire.
Great location. Very central to Hereford town centre and the surrounding countryside. Beautiful Georgian house decorated to a high standard. The owner was very friendly and helpful with advice. The breakfast was delicious. There was free parking in the grounds of the property.
The flat is pleasant and simply decorated
With neutrally coloured walls and wooden cladding
It provides a relaxing studio
the kitchen is well set up and well kitted out
The apartment is very convenient for access to Hereford town centre , train station and cinema
The two owners are delightful, and extremely helpful-we'd been put in the wrong room, which was rectified immediately.
This is an old hotel, and totally comfortable, LOTS of space for storage, clean and comfortable. Very homey. We'll definitely stay again.
Warm welcome from Michael and his team, excellent pre-arrival communication including a list of recommend restaurants to eat at all within walking distance of the Hotel, one of which we used and had an excellent meal.
Well located in Hereford very close to Cathedral and shopping.
Parking close to hotel.
Very comfortable bed.
Breakfast adequate for the price we paid.
Communal rooms appeared well decorated.
Beautiful hotel in a rural location but within 15mins drive of Hereford City centre. Friendly and helpful staff certainly added to the stay and the room was very clean and well presented.
Great value for money! I was attending a course in Hereford so needed somewhere nearby to stay, this was perfect. It was cosy and comfortable to come home to after a long day.
Excellent welcoming Hosts, lovely comfy cottage , rural location only 10 mins from Hereford Town centre and a great base to explore the sourounding area.
