Fantastic location. Views straight out of the picture window.
Room was always clean and tidy as was the shower/toilet.
Great selection for breakfast - cereals, juices etc. all the way up to full cooked breakfast.
Lots of choice on the menu, with specials, for the evening meal. Very good sized portions as well. Had to skip dessert a couple of times - bit gutted about that!
Staff always friendly and helpful.
Easy parking outside.

We loved our stay. We had a very warm welcome from Victoria complete with a glass of prosecco and chatting by a cosy fire. The house is amazing, it's much more like staying with classy friends than a B and B. Very comfortable and lots of thoughtful little touches. Delicious (I'm guessing) Italian dinner available with pre-booking (we couldn't arrive in time to try it). Breakfast was outstanding. Cute dogs and kitten to pet. Great location and good tips for local visits.
Offering garden views, Kennick Barn, peace and quiet guaranteed, Dartmoor is an accommodation situated in Christow, 15 km from Castle Drogo and 28 km from Riviera International Centre.

Having a cosy ‘Pub’ within the hotel with a real fire and dog friendly with friendly staff made our one day/night relaxing as we didn’t need to go anywhere as the weather was bad. Just down the hill via car is a lovely farm shop with cafe but you do need to book a table as we found out unfortunately. For those who like to walk there are even wellies in the reception area to borrow.

Great walking routes to Haytor Rocks and/or Haytor Quarry from the door. Remnants of the old Haytor Tramway give insight into the fascinating history of the region. Lots of other Dartmoor walks within a short drive, as are the historic villages of Ilsington and Widdecombe in the Moor. Haytor Vale itself has a row of beautiful stone cottages and it's only a 15 minute walk down to the Rock Inn, a characterful pub with great food. Lots of other Dartmoor/coastal attractions within 30 minutes drive.

There are lots of walks right on the doorstep, or reached from a short drive (e.g. Hound Tor, Rippon Tor (which is even higher than Haytor Rocks and from where the views are superb in every direction). Some leaflets in the apartment, and plenty more in the Dartmoor Visitor Centre 5 minutes' walk away. Moorland Hotel (less than 5 minutes' walk) is useful as a nearby place to eat, but the Rock Inn in Haytor Vale (7-10 minutes' walk) is even better, highly recommended.

We ate out three of the 4 nigts we were there.
We ate out three of the 4 nigts we were there. Once at the Rock Inn, food was very good, service was a bit slow but taking into account the current COVID situation not really an issue. From the apartment its only about a 10 minute walk, but down quite a narrow steep hill and there are no street lights, we took a torch. Coming back up the hill helps to walk the meal off. The other two nights we at the bistro in the Moorland Hotel, probably only around 200 yards from the apartment and no hills to deal with. Food and service was excellent. Just to be aware there are no shops in Haytor, you need to drive to Bovey Tracey for provisions. We took food with us for the first night,
Loved the grounds , hotel was beautiful. Perfect setting.
The staff were wonderful. Really welcoming , friendly especially Alison - she is so natural , she looked after us completely , she looked after all her guests individually she has an amazing personality a real tonic. Thank you Alison for making our stay extra special X
Your menus were really good , lots of choice - thank you
I have stayed at the Moorland many times, and I will continue to go there as it's just a delightful place to be. The staff are always friendly and helpful. It's cozy, with views out over the garden, even in the usual rainy English weather. The Moors are on your doorstep, and the rooms are comfortable and well-equipped. I love having my evening meals next to the warming log fire.
The staff is always friendly and very helpful. The location is excellent, not only for the Moors, but the garden is a delight, especially when you can sit out in the large chairs outside. Each room has a view over the Moorlands or the garden. we have stayed several times and will no doubt go back again.
This is the second time we've stayed at the moorland hotel this year. We liked it so much we decided to stay a gain for a long weekend to celebrate my wife's birthday and will definitely stay again. The staff are very helpful and attentive and the rooms comfortable and well equipped.
The location was superb. You can visit Dartmoor National Park by foot, so that was great.
The apartment was really nice and clean. There's a binder with all the information that you need, which was very helpful.
The communication with the host went fluently.
Fabulous views, comfortable apartment and v good facilities. Host Vanessa communicated quickly and clearly and obviously goes to a lot of trouble to ensure guests feel at home. Our second visit to Haytor Court and we certainly hope to be back!
The room with king bed was extremely comfortable. Everything was spotless. The coffee and tea in the room were delicious. Breakfast was a welcome treat. The location, near Haytor, was perfect for our needs. Would definitely stay there again!
The location and friendly staff with facilities for dogs..towels and washing area was great.
Access to garden from bedroom french doors.
Easy access to the Haytor rock and moors.
Good selection of drinks food was good.
Plenty of parking
Beautiful property in Dartmoor national park, has very easy access to many hiking trails, including the adjacent Hay Tor Rocks. very good restaurant, had superb fish and chips. espresso drinks were even available at breakfast.
Beautiful location airy, spacious light warm and very well decorated/appointed flat. Love the proximity to haytor and able to walk to places to eat and lots of lovely countryside and local shops nearby
Menu disappointing though breakfast was very good. The hotel felt tired, grubby upholstry on seats, paintwork in public areas battered. Room clean, comfortable and generally OK. Gardens lovely.
Staff were really nice. Hotel was clean and very well decorated and comfortable.
Dog friendly. Door of room opened onto a big garden.
Good vegan options.
